Have you ever known a relegated club get anything like £35m for a player, not going to happen.
Who has been relegated before that was in their mid 20s and as good as Wilf? , Wilnadjum and Sissoko went for 25 and 30 million respectively, both aren’t as good as Wilf and were a couple of years ago when players were cheaper.

You're off your rocker! Even if we have the same points total as we have now we won't be conceding defeat in January! This idea that Zaha goes before June is a complete fantasy.

Completely agree. Parish knows that Zaha is not only carrying the team at the moment but is everything that the cpfc value proposition/vision is about. Unfortunately I haven't seen much of an actual strategy or vision at the Club but if i was in charge of creating one he would be exactly what it is about. His value to us is so much more than a transfer return.

Wijnaldum is doing it at the highest level and is a totally different type of player to Zaha. Sissoko was £30million and purchased on a deadline day where fees are inflated with another interested club.

None of us have a clue what Wilf will go for. The only massively inflated price recently was Walker and that was because Guardiola places emphasis on that position and wanted strength there.

West Ham purchased Stoke's star man Arnautovic for £25m and I wouldn't call that a massive fee in today's market. To get the best price we want at least 3 clubs desperate for him, like Everton and Spurs over Sissoko.

If we have 4 points in January I would fully expect our deserving talent to be demanding a transfer rather than ruining a year of their career at a club with only 4 points in January.

You seem to care more about Zaha than Palace so surely you would want him to go and ply his trade at a team who deserve him.

That's an interesting notion. I'm sure it's never happened before like this - a club going down and then loaning out players, with the hope of getting them back after a swift promotion - but football finances are now so mental, maybe it will become a thing?

Why not? It's probably only as mental as the idea that Wilf would have signed a new contract last Summer, and that happened...

I can't see this as a flier, his last move didn't go well and he's adored here. I also think selling him would impact on season ticket renewal's. Most of our squad are just journeymen we'd be in trouble without him.

Using the money to buy a couple of PVA's and Schlupp's won't save us.

Similar model is used abroad a bit more. Morata was a 2 year loan to Juve from Madrid I believe where they paid a hefty fee for him. Madrid still own the player but he gets 1st choice opportunities plus the chance to improve. Slightly different as we aren't sending Wilf of to improve but to keep him on our books whilst making cash from him. A team may pay £10m for one season to get a £60m player for one season.

Zaha staying or going could go either way as Parish has not really shown joined up thinking during transfer windows.

Up or Down I've been convinced Wilf will leave next summer. If we go down we'll lose 15m on the price tag. The real gutting thing about going down is Wilf leaving, he has embodied the supporters passion for the club.

Why are you either, so keen for him to go for a big fee, or resigned to him going?

To be fair, you're not the only one, but we don't 'want' 3 clubs interested in him and even if there were, he's not going anywhere.

He's tied to a long term contract, our Premier League status is more important than any suggested fee, & he has shown no signs of wanting away. On the contrary, he appreciates the love shown by Palace fans & having got his fingers burnt once, realizes that the grass isn't always greener!

Never want him to go but I feel he will at end of season . We are and will always struggle - Wilf is better than that . Yes he needs to be careful where he goes but he must be thinking he could easily play for club aiming for top 6 .

These forums have become unreadable recently. The players and RH have remained upbeat, but the BBS is in a blue funk. A lot of snowflakes and 'Football Manager' obsessives really need to get a life.

Wilf's already had a disastrous transfer to a 'larger' club, it almost ruined his career.

Hopefully that will prevent him making the same mistake twice.

Stay at Palace where he is idolised
