Rubbish, everyone was aware that he wanted back in to the PL, only a matter of time before someone moved for him.

Yes, not in yet.

Compensation for Pardew is 4.8m and Allardyce was ready to take over two weeks ago. Concerns were over how much he and coaching staff cost.

Unless of course his representatives were asked by the media if BFS was applying for the vacant Palace manager's job and they simply said 'yes'

Roy Hodgson's stats are so much better than Fat Sam's. So much. At Liverpool for example, in the exact same number of games Allardyce was at Sunderland for, Woy's win % was 41.9. He also has several of over 50%. I;m not saying he is my choice, but he would be in front of Allardyce in the queue. To view the link you have to Register or Login

Palace will undertake due diligence on the 62-year-old Allardyce. It is a process which is likely to include a request for assurances that there will be no repeat of the kind of conversation which saw him dismissed as England team manager after in September, after claiming he knew a way around third part ownership rules. He is expected to offer the club assurances that he has learned his lesson after the sting by undercover journalists.

There will also be negotiating required on the size of Allardyce’s backroom team, as Palace are already taking a substantial hit with a Pardew pay-off which includes an undertaking to pay his salary until he gets a new job - a minimum 2.3m on-going remuneration. His close friend Sammy Lee, recently released by England, is likely to be among those he will want to bring to west London. There will also be a new fitness coach. In his proposals to Palace, Allardyce identified the side’s questionable fitness and concession of late goals as a substantial area for improvement.
Dont see how anyone can find that unappealing given what we've witnesed in last 6months

The thing letting Allardyce down is the fact his dodgy dealings or whatever people call them, come to light. I bet most are up to the same under the radar.

Managing Liverpool, with better players, different objectives, different expectations. Sunderlands target was to finish 4th bottom with a team of donkeys, one angry little midget and Jermaine Defoe. This is not a fair comparison.

This is also the same Roy Hodgson who consistently overlooked our best players for the national team.

It looks like the threat of impending relegation and the cost that would mean to the club has overridden such concerns.

Will BFS identify young players, particularly from our academy for example?

Our long term success (top 10 club) depends on getting someone who can build our club for 3-4 years.

Your for now comment identify's you as someone who will be asking for big Sam's head in a years time, even if we are 14th.

Yes, I agree, it's short term-ism again. It was fine under Pulis who did the same job, but Palace have been there, done that surely? Are they really that bad that they need a dodgy journeyman manager with questionable morals to come in and firefight?
