The president was also heavily criticised last week for telling an unemployed man he could easily get a job simply by “crossing the street”.
Held up by the “moderates” such as Heb as something we should aspire to.

A few scraps thrown to the average French pleb in return for pension/welfare cuts for the workers in the near future after massively lining the pockets of the rich and businesses via 2 huge tax cuts in the last 2 years .

Macron was accused by critics of being a president for the rich after he cut taxes on the wealthy and companies in his first year in office while reducing housing benefits and increasing social security levies that hit pensioners in particular.

Macron’s popularity is plumbing new lows and the president is counting on the tax cuts for households — notably a phasing out of housing tax — to boost their purchasing power.

That, his administration calculates, will make it easier for households to swallow tough reforms next year of the pension system and unemployment insurance

Well the French public obviously have a very low view of him. Historically low approval ratings.

Telling an unemployed bloke to go over the road and get a job is scummy.

He seems to get very agitated if challenged such as when he told a student to show respect. Typical contemptuous attitude by the elite when confronted by working class people who have a different view. Just because someone isn't a public school boy doesn't mean that the sneering ruling class should disregard their opinion.

I have no idea. But the notion that all gardeners must be in an underclass is really rather dated and unpleasant.

I said working class not under class. Still, for all I know he might have been from a middle class or prosperous family.

Ryder Cup coming up at the end of the week in Paris - Macron should have suggested he applies for a job as a green keeper

Or at the very least not just make things up. I don't know that much about Macron except that he's apparently a "centrist" who beat the Nazi. I suppose it's fair to say I do think beating Nazis is a good thing but saying I think he's what we should "aspire to is a stretch.

There are parts of the British right who wank themselves silly over any perceived misfortune of Merkel, and parts of the British left who do the same with Macron. It's very odd.

Macron is finished as he is clearly been outed by the french electorate as a stooge for the Neo-liberals ,elite , rich and businesses .
Macron has little in common with the average French citizen , lacks manners , diplomacy and has embarked on a ruinous tax giveaway which he will finance through pension , State job and welfare cuts in a feeble attempt to regain popularity .

Still has a way to go to be as unpopular as Hollande then.

You’re a silly thing. And actually saying you aspire to anything is probably a stretch as you won’t give a positive view on barely anything. I’ll give you that.

And it’s not about “wanking themselves silly”, it’s about seeing the damage a so called moderate is doing with neo liberal policies.

You’ve commented on this thread quite a few times. Bizarre for someone who apparently knows nothing much about him.
