Is this the latest finish to a season ever?

County season finishes next Thursday the 28th

Last odi next Friday the 29th

Surely there has never been any domestic games ever in October?

I guess this is the penance in kowing tow to t20

I've seen it mentioned that the late finish to the international matches was to fit in the Champions Trophy, but the County Championship does seem to have been squeezed into times that are not conducive to playing cricket (as well as a late finish, the start of the season keeps moving forward)

Championship cricket shoved out to the margins of the Summer in April/May/September, troubled by rain, whilst the schoolboy knock-about crap for non-cricket fans gets pride of place.

In what other sport are the bread-and-butter supporters treated so disdainfully.

Winds me up.

It does get later and later every year and this has to be the latest to end.

The problem is T20 makes money and they want to use that the best they can. Therefore the other two competitions get pushed out of the way.

Kent have this week meant to be playing Derbyshire in Chesterfield. Play has been called off for a third day with no play. I like the use of outgrounds but not in September.

The reason it's not at the main ground in Derby is because it hosted a Boyzone concert last week. During the season cricket grounds should be used for cricket.

Can Surrey get the wicket of the in form Davies and go on to a easy win? Weather good tomorrow,so a full day ahead. I would say we are big favourites, but it will have Mr Hart breaking open the drinks cabinet.
Win tomorrow and avoid defeat at Lancs and we should be runners up. That will be having only won 2 games. A draw tomorrow and a loss to Lancs and I think we could still go down. Daft league.

They seem to be struggling to find the right formula but are only making the fixture list chaotic and meaningless. Should go back to the good old days of the John Player League 40 over Sunday format. At least you know where you stood.

That is truly bonkers. If only it reflected a tight league.

The points system plus the scheduling (again). Sigh. What a mess.
