It's sad to see, but this is a balanced post.

He should have done better for the WHU goal which put us under more pressure and got them going but then he pulls of a good save to prevent a second but then that is what he is there to do.

Tonight though he spilled pretty much everything. They had 3 shots on target and none of them particularly good. Spilled 1 into the centre of the goal first half, spilled a tame effort in the second to give them all 3 points and cost us 1 in a poor game.

He has been a great servant to the club but he is not doing enough to keep his place when we have a good goalkeeper on the bench.

He should have kept it out easily! It wasn't exactly a thunderbolt and he got a very weak hand to it but because we won 3-1 it wasn't really mentioned. The guy is done, it's painful watching his decline!

Lol... Really. You are judging Hennessey on one game 5 years ago?!

To be honest if you are looking for arguments to support not dropping Jules, it is about as good as there is!

This is a very common argument that you see whenever we are linked with a player. The common answer will be "The same XXXXX who Ward/Delaney had in their pocket earlier in the season." This often makes me roll my eyes, the judging of players over tiny sample sizes. While I have no idea if Hennessey is the long term answer, given our league position is quite healthy, I'd like to see if he could be our number 1 for years to come. If not then that becomes a job for our scouting team.

I'm afraid that this is very much on the mark. There have been 6 shots in the last 7 games that Julian has either spilled or parried straight to an opposition forward, which have cost 4 goals (Lukaku, Giroud, Lallana, Mane). He got away with another 2 (Pelle, and Leicester).

To be totally fair, he did bounce back at West Ham, but that is too many mistakes to ignore and Pardew should give Hennessey a chance now with a 10 day break to prepare.

Do the Speroni knockers actually go and if they do, do they actually pay for their tickets or are they still begging the players for freebies.

If Hennessey does come in for Jules how long does he get if he makes a mistake?

I go regularly being a ST holder and it's plain to see that Speroni has fallen a long way from the standard he set last season. Anyone that fails to see this is looking at him through the rosiest of rose-tinted glasses.
