That’s what I’m saying, good business IF they replace him well (Elyounoussi would present that imo), poor business if they don’t. By two years ago I meant two seasons, when Tadic had 20 something goal contributions and looked a top 6 calibre player.

What an odd transfer for Ajax. It would seem to be the opposite of what they are all about. Big transfer fee for someone who is nearly 30.

When Koeman played attacking football, under Puel and Pellegino their attacking play was massively stifled and as a result Tadic was a shadow of that player. 3 goals in 8 games including single handedly winning their must win home game against Bournemouth.

Fee of £15m talked about around Southampton so doesn't represent great business IMO.

It doesn't it means the managers in past two seasons played to his weaknesses and not to his strengths and you say he wasn't as productive - well lets have a guess why!

You say it is good business, not the thoughts i am hearing from people who are far more involved than you or i.

I agree that it’s been harder for Tadic. Less of a Koeman effect imo, as in his career he’s typically been a conservative hoofball manager, most strongly evidenced by his time at Everton, and more of a losing Mane effect, he had an almost Zaha esque impact on that team. But, for me he’s still not the same player, and I’ve read Saints fans repeating the same sentiments without mention of systems or managers.

Stuart Armstrong in, Tadic out

So’ton pocket a large profit. Has Hughes negotiated himself a percentage of their transfer deals, he does have history.

I think it’s great money for Tadic tbh, looked off the pace last season. Trusting Hughes to target adequate replacements is the worry for them, ask Stoke and Qpr

Not surprised. Tadic fell out with the Southampton management a long time ago.

Being reported at £7m for Armstrong and £10m for Tadic so not much of a profit.

Southampton have been a selling club for the past few years, i believe as Liebherr tries to take money back out of the club.
