He’s quality.. and let’s not forget he’s 19. If we have any chance to sign him we should.. he’s be our right back for years. I’d have him on a permanent over RLC

Good player generally, does make some positional mistakes but has the pace to recover.

Aside from that, first player in a while, to clear the Arthur Waite roof with a clearance.

Definitely getting better all the time. He has such pace - at times he is too fast for his brain to catch up! But you can see him going on to become a top defender. If there is any chance of signing him I hope we are all over it.

Top class player who will probably go back to manure and break into their first team next season.

Let's hope the Wankers sell another 100 squillion shirts in London and the Far East and decide to spunk most of it on a RB. We'll keep TFM at a real football club.

Id make this permanent too if given the option, love the enthusiasm he shows when we score/win

I really like RLC too but given how injured he has been already I am not sure he would be worth what the fee would likely be to us

I think with Jose it's entirely likely, he values established experienced players for more than bringing in youth.

We could sell Ward to Pulis to help cover the costs

Not sure I recognise that. He does position himself differently to most RBs but I would describe that as almost exagerating the invite he gives to a player to go wide around him. He' isn't backing off towards his goal, more akin to giving the winger a yard start past him but knowing that he will catch him and get his tackle in once the winger sets off. Clyne did something similar but far subtler and harder to spot. They both leave their winger a lot of space when we are going forward knowing that they can catch him whenever he wants. He is a good tackler too when he does make his move. I think his positioning and decisions as part of the defence is where he is still learning. It's not that he is struggling with it but rather that he hasn't completely nailed that still and so often has to adjust.

He had one burst of speed up the wing that made me think he could be a 100m sprinter. Really wish we would try and put a proposal and agree a price to buy him at the end of the season before Man U put his price up. He will only get better with experience.

Can Fosu-Mensa play further forward if Ward came in at right back?

I've heard a Utd fan saying that right back isn't his natural position, if so then I've no idea what is.

Would he be a possibility for the wing if Zaha is out?

He is very in and out needs to cross the ball much better but has a big future with normal progress, would be a great signing.

With his pace and athleticism he reminds me a bit of Clyne. Just without the footballing talent!

That's what I was thinking. He reminds me of Clyne, and I think if Fosou-Mensah had been playing regular first team football for two years. Clyne still remains one of my favourite players to appear in a Palace shirt.

Its astonishing to think that he played 122 games for us (in fact more games than he's played for either Southampton or Liverpool). Total class act as well, when he turned down wolves when we were in admin.
