I wish i was there...
Everyone will remember these scorelines, for one reason or another;
Liverpool 9-0 Palace Palace 9-0 Barrow One was our highest defeat, the other our highest win. But while searching through my old tapes i came across a tape entitled "Danny Bakers Right Hammerings." I know, Milwall......booooooo. But in amongst the constant anti-Palace jibes, the tape showed me something i had never seen before, but which made me very happy. PALACE 5-0 MAN UTD 16.12.1972 Rogers 2 Mulligan 2 Whittle With it being years before i was even born did any fellow BBSers see the game? How i wish we could see that scoreline nowadays!

I was there> The match was also shown on the Sunday afternoon on the Big Match. My dad was shown in close up after the 5th one went in and I had never seen him with such a happy face.

And Palace - you'd be surprised how many of us BBSers were there; I don't get tired of watching the video (the Big Match one is the best...about 25 mins of the match in all). |

it was a great game although ManU were a poor side and were lucky to stay up that year, if my failing memory is right we didn't win too many games after that and were relegated

Yes - I was there. One of my fondest Palace memories. Not only a 5-0 win against ManU, but two of the finest Palace goals ever. See
To view the link you have to Register or Login for an mpg clip of Don Roger's classic from that game. I also have a video of the game. I might be persuaded to do another CD-V, if it would result in a few more contributions to the BBS coffers! |

Any chance of you 2 getting together and putting ROB's video onto a CD. I'd love to see highlights of those 2 matches from 75/76.

I was there! Wonderful afternoon, never to be forgotten. I know Moan United were on the slide a bit at the time, but take nothing away from Palace, it was an excellent performance.

big bump!
What are the odds on another 5-0 thrashing. I was at this match, but remember little of it,.except Rodgers scored a great goal walking around the Man Utd defence -anyone else at this match?

I was there too......hoping for a repeat tomorrow!
I'm sure Man U were relegated that season, and after the drubbing from Palace their manager Frank O'Farrell was sacked. |
