The worst take over of Selhurst though was the Man Utd game later that season, it honestly felt like being at an away game in the home end.

Re: fan trouble at Selhurst.
We always seemed to have a good ding-dong with Arsenal in the eighties, although we were always well outnumbered. Their fans seemed to be the most obnoxious and arrogant at the time.
One occasion, no idea what year, the Whitehorse mob hid at the back of the Holmesdale, behind the grassy bank at the top, while us regular Holmesdale Enders took up our usual places (acting as bait!). The Arsenal fans arrived as expected and steamed in to the Holmesdale, initially appearing to take over as usual, only to be sent fleeing with their collective tails between their legs as the Whitehorse mob came 'over the hill' and surprised them. Unfortunately weight of numbers eventually told and they still managed to take over half the Holmesdale, but it wasn't the total capitulation that we normally witnessed against the big London Clubs.

WBA away 1987 - Brum supporters turned up for Palace in the town centre in retaliation for an 'altercation' on a train the week before.
Seem to remember a barman getting a dart in the neck that day, also one Palace supporter in hospital before the match and also being outnumbered about 10-1 in the town centre with ahail of beer glasses flying through the air.... Last edited by LeeH; 25-02-2007 at 09:47 PM. |

Where I was in E2 the night of the wet Chelsea game, a couple of chelsea took the piss. No opposition what so ever. I was about 14.
Anyone remember the Luton v stewards ruck in Feb 07? All over a flag in the no-mans land bit if I remember rightly.
