As much as I prefer Garvan, I expect Dobbie to chip in with a few vital goals and assists this season. He has a touch of class, IMO. |

DObbie is a gamble. Technically sound championship player, seems to think he's better than he is, which means he sometimes overplays for the sake of making himself look good and doesn't always work the hardest for the team that he can, thus why clubs ditch him a lot;
He's looked better and sharp in pre season, but still needs to knuckle down and focus if he wants to be a player at the top level. He's a rich mans Neil Danns, think he'll surprise me this season But he isn't one to play week In and out in a dog fight.

I can't see any similarity between Dobbie and Danns. Danns had a fantastic engine and a half decent shot but not much technical ability. At times last season Dobbie infuriated me with his lack of effort, but you have to accept him as a luxury player - and one who can find space, make a special pass, deliver a great ball and has an excellent eye for goal. If the 10 around him work hard and accept his qualities he can be effective = even at this level. If he, Chamkh and Gayle each score 12 goals this seasons we will have a chance, however small.

I think Ollie made a a big mistake with Dobbie, he is the only goal scoring midfielder we have, he could have done a job for us behind the striker.

A good end to last season, a good pre-season, two bad games in the PL and he was out.
Good job that rule doesn't apply to all of our squad - we would only have Ward playing at the moment.

Should definitely be in ahead of Guadalajara (who it turns out is rubbish). But hindsight's a wonderful thing and I think IH would now admit that the window was chaotic and panicked.

I predict someone will be saying we should have kept Easter too soon.

Not really sure we can write off Guedioura just yet... he has hardly played for us! He was very highly thought of at Forest and I think they liked him at Wolves too.

Exactly and trying to settle in at a new club that's going through a terrible patch was never going to be easy.

Sorry, he wasn't that good last season, except for the game against Bristol?

Should have kept him and Garvan. Especially Garvan. Our midfield looks worse without him, even defensively.

Players always get better when they arent playing.
If we'd have played Dobbie & Garvan, Holloway would be berated for not making 15 signings to improve players who aren't good enough. We sign 15 players and results are bad and then Dobbie, Garvan, Wilbraham and Ramage are all Prem class all of a sudden and yep, you guessed it, Holloway at fault. Lets face it, all these football managers know Jack. If the BBS did collective management via poll voting every week we'd be top by now.
