Not named on the US tour? Shame for him after his performance in Austria.

Dobbie looked steady last pre-season if I remember correctly. He certainly isn't a Pulis esque player, would you want him involved based on the fact he scored against a substandard Austrian team? Fact of the matters are, that the guy isn't good enough for this level. Best for all parties for the player to move on.

I think the point Davy64 was making is he scored 4 and set up 2 against Graz, so could hardly have done more...if they took him to Austria and played him, and he played pretty well, it is surprising he's dropped for the US tour.
Carry on like that and he had a chance of making the 25 - based on current personnel |

Strange that Lewis Price has travelled - 4 keepers.

Believe Price has travelled as they are still undecided about who to name as the third choice keeper in the squad I believe (May be wrong due to Kettings age). Chance of a third keeper being used between now and Christmas is unlikely so perhaps they are seeing whether they can be confident in Kettings abilities if needed or go with Prices experience

Whilst I feel he may not be quite good enough he does have the important knack of scoring. Let's be positive for Dobbie and say he ha proved what he can do. Not everyone on the US trip will necessarily get into the 25 so he may have a chance. Plus Harry Potter likes him.

USA is a tour to play reasonable opposition and raise the profile of the club. It is the start of Pulis having a real sort out and deciding his starting 11 not just his 25. Dobbie is not a PL player, he has never made it at this level and doesn't put the effort in needed to get in a Pulis side. He needs to be un England so that he can find himself a move to be playing football this year, not in the states on the fringes. He will not make our 25, unless we don't have 25 players to name. |

I'm not a total idiot- He isn't a Pulis type player but does have a knack of scoring so could be an option for the bench if no signings come. Pulis turned a lot of non-prem standard players into prem standard last year - maybe he could get more out of Dobbie - there is SOME talent there. I don't think he will make our 25 in the end but I'm not 100% dismissive yet |

Here we go again. Scores a few vs an Austrian amateur side and people think he should get a chance. Il repeat what I said this time last season on this thread.

If - big if - he doubled his work rate, he has the ability to score - have we got 25 better overage players yet? |

Dobbie played a big part in us getting promoted, but, he only turned up in some games. If he was having a bad game, then he was having an awful game.
Technically he is a good player and can score a goal, but he isn't cut out for the Premier League any more. Scoring goals against a team in the 7th tier of Austrian football means nothing. |

Not 100% certain Dobbie will still be here come the end of the window.
He's one of the players I think wouldn't missed if he left but qould probably be in and around the squad if he stayed. |

Suspect he will be gone come the end of the window, he even said as much himself in an interview.
