Can we make this more select and restrict to those who were at Orient the week before as well?

I was at both. What a fantastic week. The away end at Orient was rammed.

Was in the AW enclosure. Vince crossed from right in front of us and you could see right from the moment the ball left his boot that Walsh was going to get on the end of it.

Holmesdale.
Who was also at Selhurst on the day of the Wrexham v Mansfield game (a 4-1 win against Hereford Reserves, I seem to recall, with about 4,000 there - I have a feeling it has its own thread)?

I was at both, getting home from Orient took an age i seem to remember, the queue for the train was so long we thought we's walk to the next stop and never found it but happy days no doubt.
Celebrated after the Burnley game up at the triangle, the pubs spilling out on the streets and everyone jubilant, possibly the best night of the lot. |

Top of the Holmesdale. Nearly got thrown out by a copper for starting a push (accidentally...) after Walshy scored. Croydon was absolutely buzzing until the wee small hours.

For the Burnley match, I totally cocked up, thinking there may be about 35k there, I got there early, but nowhere near early enough and struggled to park (I had only recently passed my Driving Test and wasn't that confident at reversing into small spaces). There was a huge queue when we got to the Whitehorse End and I thought we weren't going to get in. I and my mate and my Girlfriend at the time, thought we would try to get in through the U16's turnstiles (much smaller queue) and it worked, despite all being 17/18 !! The rest is history - What a night ! |

My first memories of going to football were with my uncle (dad’s brother in law) who took me along to Palace to see his team, West Ham. 78/79 was the first and only time we both went to Upton Park together, not sure if it was in the old ‘Chicken Run’ but I do remember him telling another West Ham fan to pipe down for giving me grief for cheering Palace on, my uncle was over 74 years old back then, but it worked! What a game we had at home to West Ham that season too. 3-3 - how many remember Billy Gilbert’s terrific goal into the Whitehorse goal?!

My whole family went - it's the only game my mum's ever been to! And one of my sisters for that matter!

There with my wife front of the old stand brilliant view, what an atmosphere! As for the Orient wasn't at that game but remember going to the Orient when we lost 8 - 1? Our goalie was injured and played up front. An embarrassing trip with an Orient fan with who I had bigged
up about Palace! |

I was at both, I drove to orient and remember all my mates lifting my car into a parking space, no chance of reversing in.

I would have been in the Holmesdale road end if I hadn't flown out to Australia with the army four days before. Didn't find out the result for a couple of weeks.

Strange how 25k of those on that night missed the following season. Bloody glory hunters.

Another for the Holmesdale, I was about the 7th person to enter the ground.
I wrote about it on some previous thread.

Cheers mate! As if today wasn't depressing enough, you've now implanted in my head a mental image of my parents f*cking.
