Dutch team yes,not PSV,still going in current Dutch First Division.
A reminder for the other question still outstanding,Question number 4,that the Competition name has been posted by myself earlier in this thread, ironically this also had a Dutch connection as the England team that day won 1-0 in Holland. Final clue is he made his debut on Saturday, 25th August 1973 in a 4-1 defeat at home to Notts County at just 17. Should be easy now ! Question 3 will be revealed tomorrow if unanswered. I love to know how they made the numbers we got 170K for two of them....but the rest making nearly 400K had to be a Palace fan doing it....

And I think Birchenall cost £100k when we signed him from Chelsea ? Good player too. It was a shame he was only at CPFC for just over 1 season. |

NHE is correct, we only got 80,000 for Birchenall, which means we surprisingly took a loss on him, after buying him for over 100,000. Was Kellard included in that deal?

Birchenall we signed as a goalscorer to play alongside Gerry Queen and be it lack of service as much as his own ability he only delivered what 10 or so. In those days I would occasionally see the team train he and Kember were the players with what I suppose was called style certainly they were the snappy dressers of the team. When Birchenall left us and joined Leicester they eventually turned him into a midfielder and by coincidence he ended up playing alongside Kember when he joined them from Chelsea. |

Terry Wharton was signed on the basis of his pace and explosive shot, but I only remember him really delivering that once with a strong run from the halfway line and power shot, v Wolves, I believe, although he did score a few more. |

The plan regarding question 10 was eventually for you to post what you thought the team value was for that match but you are all ahead of me again !.
Anyway, here is the final question resolved and to be fair I had never heard of them before until researching some questions for this little quiz. Hope you all enjoyed it and I'll do another during the summer. |

I admit, I had to cheat and had to Google players names, but I wasn't going to spoil it.

I told you no one had heard of the Dutch Team dont even think they had even played in the Inter Cities Fairs Cup. Now famous for the place we signed a treaty not the football team..... Can I claim the answer the team that no one knew was correct. Cos I thought Darzret Eagle answered John Sewell not me Post 23.......I guessed at it but he had already answered Thanks again ......
