Previous Palace strikers back to 1980
I was just thinking if Palace have had a decent striker apart from the likes of AJ, Wrighty and Brighty so I was just seeing who the strikers have been in the past
Start with 1980 onwards. Cheers. |

We’ve certainly had our fair share of dross:
Andrew, Andrews, Kuqi, Macken, Scowcroft, Counago, Iversen, Easter, Wilbraham, John, Akinbiyi, Adebola, Black, Martin, Stokes, Rui Fonte, Lee, Ameobi, Sonogo, Jerome, Campbell, Sears, Beattie, Adebayor, Dickov, Kitson, Whelan, Obika, Bradbury, Kaviedes, Bamford, Brolin, Remy, Dyer, Padovano, Veart, Fuller, Idrizaj Some worked hard, some I quite liked, some did more than others, some were decent earlier in their career or later on, but there’s not much genuine quality there in terms of what they did for us! I’m not sure where to put Ventola, Benteke or McKenzie. AJ, Bent, Jansen, Morrison, Shipperley, Chamakh, Freedman, Forsell, Phillips, Murray and Svensson were all good for us. I’d argue Gayle was too although I supported selling him. So was Butterfield.

I saw Tommy Langley make his debut as a 16 year old at Chelsea in the mid 80’s, so when the team of the 80’s wheels were falling off and we signed him I was quite excited,,,,,,,,i was amazed how crap he’d become!!
