Anyone remember when Barnsley had to wear our away kit?

I'd totally forgotten this ever happened.

It's kind of priceless.

Come to think of it, I think Swindon(?) wore a dirty one, which the reserves had used earlier as well.

In my head that Roberts goal was in a 0-0 against Pompey, where his goal would've won it.

1996 promotion season. Birmingham wore our yellow and red third kit and beat us - Martin Grainger with the goal

We wore Sheffield Utd’s away kit at Bramall Lane in 1978(?). Even more strange, Shrewsbury wore a Wolves away kit when they visited Selhurst, sometime in the 80s.

Good call …. I was at that game … it was early in the season, Sept I think.

Yellow kit if I recall

I'm sure I remember Grimsby having to wear our kit once at SP, around 76 or 77? I also think the highlights were on The Big Match on the Sunday.

I’m sure you’re right. I remember it happening but couldn’t remember the opponents.

Birmingham wore our yellow 'third kit'. We lost every time we played in it. And we lost when they played in it.

Grimsby was 15th Jan 1977.

Regarding Barnsley there was a story going round that the Tykes had to purchase our away strip from the club shop.
