Not worse than the Murray sale, who has been, but remember chris Powell playing as right back and was really surprised when we let him go.

Still a considerably better transfer than selling Murray, plus we didn't have a choice in selling Wright

Jedinak couldn't handle the pace in his final season with us. It was best for him to drop down the division as he was becoming a passenger with 30 mins to go.

Though I think it was obvious his hold up play and nonsecwoukd have done us well rap with Gayle and I would have worked harder to keep him, it was Murray who pushed for the move.. and as it turns out he was right to go play every week in the championship to get back to fitness Worst transfer was the sake of Wright (whichever way you remember the story), hommleaving us set us back over a decade... if only we could have got Shearer... not that he wanted to come to us. |

I was sad when Murray left and it is so painful seeing him doing so well for the Weed whilst we're desperately struggling upfront. But people talk like we sold him straight into the Brighton Premier League first team. We sold him to Bournemouth. He failed there and dropped down a division. He refound his form there, but even then Brighton didn't expect him to be first choice in the Premier League and tried to buy replacements. The Indian Summer of his career has been a surprise to everyone.
As for Wright: no transfer has ever hurt as much. And whilst £2.5m was a lot at the time, it was also just on the cusp of a burst of transfer inflation so soon started to look very cheap.

By the way there were plenty on here that thought the £3m was a good price for him at the time. What a joke. Gayle was a more difficult time me as we were playing one up front. |

Ron's comments were stupid, but I don't think they had any impact on Wright leaving.
