That's a good shout. He could make a box to box player as well. He has the pace for sure.

With that pace?

There is a lots of room for improvement, but there is oodles of talent there.

He will be a player but he’s only back up/one for the future

Right back. Got the pace and tackling is fantastic but poor at positioning, weak in the air for set pieces and whilst he gets forward well his crossing is the worst I’ve ever seen. He’s young and can work on all of those but big flaws currently

Center back. Again excellent tackling and pace and he reads the game well sometimes. He’s very weak in the air to be central and has been guilty of ball watching but again youth is on his side.

Center midfield? Probably the least pace related position apart from box to box stuff but he can’t pass or cross in the final third. Yes the defensive side perhaps, he’d likely be very good at interceptions around the edge of our area but really we’ve seen little to suggest he’d be better for that.

I like him, a natural athlete, good engine and buckets of pace as well as seemingly being a very likeable guy, all effort, a fantastic tackle. He does have glaring issues in every position he’s played for us though. Very likely to improve those as time is on his side but he’d be very expensive for potential right now. We have several key areas we need to buy quality and that’s expensive for what we want. If Utd took a cheap deal for some reason great but with our current requirements I doubt we have the cash to spend that Utd would want on someone not likely to be a starter in the coming season

I'd also say so too. Thing is TFM is not a Palace player and JR is.

40k/week for JR you say - if that's true I don't see him going anywhere else next season & we need to make the best of him. No club who could pay that would want him.
I'd heard from Dutch people last summer there was some derision about the fee and wages for him in Holland, so that fits.

TFM maybe has the problem of being a non specialist in terms of his position, but he certainly looks a Prem standard player and we could do worse for general cover, especially if we lose Ward and/or Kelly.

I'd like to have him back for another season if Joel doesn't stay. His age means we wouldn't have to put him in the 25 next season either.

Don't like him as a centre back but I like him in right back or centre midfield roles (though not seen him play there for CPFC)

I'm not convinced he's going to improve enough to be good a Premier League player. If you look at most good outfield players, they were almost at their current level of ability by the age of 20/21. Players add nouse and nuance as they gain league experience, but they've had so much training by that age that if they can't do something well by then it's unlikely they'll be able to in a few years.

I can see Fosu-Mensah having another go on loan to a Prem club, not doing great, then having a decent career in the Championship where his pace gives him more of an advantage - bit like Nedem Onuoha.

Very nice statement, seems like a genuinely nice guy. Good to hear both RLC and TFM praising the fans, hopefully a good advert for other players considering a loan or even permanent move.

Both are a good advert for future loan or permanent signings.

Who knows - they might both want to sign for us come July !

Loved the passion he showed playing for us, unexpected from a loanee and never complained. Best performance was shackling Leroy Sane, had him stapled down that game.

Really? Wouldn’t say that for top right backs over the years like Zabaleta, Walker, Ivanovic, Trippier, Clyne, Coleman etc, all of which at Tim’s age were only getting regular game time in far weaker leagues, and were far from the finished, premier league product. Let alone the endless list of outfield players in general.

TFM about Palace fans: "They are great fans because we struggled at the start, but they stood by us and that shows a lot about the club and the fans. I don’t think any other fans would do that for their team."

Good lad. Will endear himself to his club with that one!
