Speroni is blameless, ridiculous people are pointing the finger at him.
Although he might have done better he might also very easily have got sent off (and with that ref I am sure he would have got that decision right) - the key is what you said, the joke header from Puncheon and slow reactions of Moxey. For me sitting in the Holmesdale Upper there was nothing much between the two teams except the ref yesterday, with the mistakes around offside and allowing constant fouling.

Hallelujah! This.

In 20-30 years time, young Palace fans will ask us about Jools and we'll be able to say what a privilege it was to watch him.

If you think John Jackson never made a mistake you're deluded. Do you remember Nigel Martyn's brainstorm at QPR?

Still great Palace keepers and Speroni will be remembered alongside them.

Interestingly people have had a pop at Puncheon for not continuing running after the ball when the guy had shot towards goal, when he quite clearly would not have got it.
The thing with Moxey is he had a split second decision to make and made the wrong one.

Plus we dont know what the calling was, did Moxey call for the header?

I agree with your 2nd point, ridiculous to say that Puncheon is going to get the ball

With all of this, let us all hope come the end of the season none of us give a shit as we have stayed up and it has become a bit of an irrelevance

However allow me an anorak moment and not for your benefit, but for those that think Puncheon could have stopped the ball hitting the back of the net

The ball travelled 20 yards towards goal taking less than 2 secs to cross the line. Puncheon would have needed to be running at near the speed of Usain Bolt to have have caught up with it let alone clear it away

You don't need to have 15 replays to know it was a mistake my reaction when it went in was that Speroni was too soft in the tackle and the man who wanted the ball more won. It's got nothing to do with luck I don't believe in that bullshit

I wonder what you'd be saying if Jules had clattered into him and got sent off with over half the match to go?!

You can't blame Speroni or Moxey FFS. There's only one person at fault for that goal - Puncheon. He put us in that situation and to blame others is just ******* ridiculous.

Yes Puncheon is to blame for the goal, but both Moxey and Speroni had opportunities to clean up the mistake. Doesn't make it their fault, as without Puncheon's mistake they wouldn't have had to.

What also got me was how Puncheon gave up when it was kicked goal wards - I still believe he could have caught up with the ball, or at least done everything he could to try. A player who gives up and doesn't give it his all is not what we need at the moment!

Nonsense, as I put in a previous post;

'The ball travelled 20 yards towards goal taking less than 2 secs to cross the line. Puncheon would have needed to be running at near the speed of Usain Bolt to have have caught up with it let alone clear it away'

You can't blame him for being half hearted? Goalkeepers are supposed to be brave. He should have been out to clear the ball. Puncheon made the mistake, Speroni should have done a lot better.

Speroni could have got the ball, probably a bit of man and not get sent off. He wasn't brave enough, now that is fact!

I'll say it as I think Brett sort of alluded to it... Jules knew if he got sent off or injured he would lose his place to Hennessey so he bottled it a bit.

I blame the groundsmen for making the pitch too good, the ball could have stuck in mud otherwise.
