Love to see Zaha given a run up front but the big fear is that as soon as we come under pressure at the back, he will get drawn deeper and we will end up with the usual formation. Ambrose and Garvan together is a big gamble and will leave gaps. Would like to see it if we needed 3 points to make the playoffs or avoid relegation but we dont. Surely its about next season now ? So I would show some confidence in De Silva and give him another start. And also have a proper look at Appiah or Pedroza. ............................SPERONI............... ...................................... Subs ZAHA................may come back to his best as supersub PEDROZA...........give him a run if Appiah or Murray fail or tire INNIS...............could have a few minutes if the game is settled AMBROSE..........useful if we want to change the shape or on for Desilva. PRICE................or Fitzsimmons !

Reading between the lines on twitter think Appiah may well be playing and Wynter has travelled too.

Appiah on the bench makes a lot of sense.
If the game remains tight then Pompey will have to go for it late on, leading them very suceptable to the counter attack. |

Speroni Clyne Innis McCarthy Parsons O'Keefe Ambrose Wynter Moxey Pedroza Murray Price, McShane, De Silva, Appiah, Parr With the plan being to try De Silva and Appiah for Wynter and Pedroza at about 60 mins. Putting Innis between Clyne and McCarthy means he can be "shepherded" a bit, Moxey can keep an eye on Parsons, Ambrose on Wynter/De Silva and Murray on Pedroza / Appiah. Assuming no injuries McShane can give Innis a rest. If Reading go up tonight we can repeat the exercise on Saturday! Last edited by Beanie : 17-04-2012 at 12:55 PM. |
