Jeffrey Schlupp

With our lack of pace currently and not looking like scoring , is it an idea to play Schlupp in an advanced role . I have never seen him play like this for us

Schlupp left back, PVA left wing would be my preference

Pace on both wings - yes please

if we went 4-5-1 (or a variation) then it means Sorloth up top as well and no Benteke. Worthy a try at least

That video typifies how our players are lacking confidence. Schlupp, Benteke, Townsend, Punch (not just getting older IMO) and even Van Aanholt, all played much better previously. PVA starting to get his mojo back and Sako too before being criminally tackled by that scumbag Zabaletta.

Not sure what goes on in training but Roy needs to find a way to boost the players confidence going forward.

Schlupp is not good enough to make a difference to our attack but makes sense in a defensive set up. We need clean sheets so i would rather play him and PVA then both Sorlotth and CB..

Yes that's why I raised this thread . We do not look like scoring at the moment , Schlupp was obviously playing in a different position for Leicester in these numerous clips , either behind striker or attacking midfielder .

Also he scored 10 goals for Leicester and 6 at Brentford on loan , maybe full back is not his best position - just a thought

I think he started his career as a striker. But for us, even his efforts when he got into good shooting positions have been woeful...

We have no thrust from the middle without RLC and Benteke isn't scoring. Playing Schlupp as an AM is not a bad idea. Won't happen tho. He'll be on the flanks and it will be all about lumping it to Benteke.

We lack pace in an attacking sense. I agree, he should play for that reason alone.

The club clearly think he'll be back before the end of the season. He's also when combined with Wilf, Cabaye and Andros one of our actually useful attacking players. You take one or two of them out of the squad and we turn to rat shit from an attacking perspective as no one carries the ball and we are really really easy to stop because you only have to deal with one player.
