Heart and sole dumped. Jedinak, Murray and alike were strong characters who played with desire, fought for the cause. In a bid to be a possession side we destroyed the very life blood of the team. Whether that was all down to Pardew I doubt, Parish must share some of the blame here.

I believe last night we bottomed out in terms of being sh** and we'll start to recover although likely to be a very slow recovery and a big relegation battle.

Perhaps instead of giving Pards the boot we should have forced him to bring in new fitness and defensive coaches, something I suggested at the time.

We were scoring goals, and at times, it appeared we were making progress in some areas.

You weren't going to force him to do anything otherwise we would have won more than 6 games in a year...if you call that progress then standards have dropped so low they aren't applicable

Sam Allardyce now knows how much he has on his plate at Crystal Palace after disastrous home defeat to Swansea

They were also playing pretty poorly and not worth having in the team for their performance.

I keep seeing these players names being mentioned on here a lot, and sure it sucks that they got sold, but at the same time surely at the level we are at now in the PL we expect these players to play at the same level ? For most of the ones we sold they weren't playing at PL level for us and at the prices we sold them for it was certainly worth it, at least in my opinion.

As Parish admitted, he didn't want too, the Americans wished it and he had to accept it.

Also explains the dicking around with silly 15 million offers plus champions league place money....

Losing Bolasie lost us our surprise factor which won us so many points.

Jedinak struggled last year and looked to be tiring so he had to be moved on. Not replacing him with a like minded leader was the problem.

Signing Townsend was a dreadful decision and really sums up what this 'new Palace' feels like.

Not finding a real top class goalkeeper. We spend £10m on a centre back and then don't know which keeper is best.

This is a horrible time to be a Palace fan and I'm sure clubs like Reading and Millwall must look at us and think we are acting like spoilt Premiership fans but we have been where they are and we know that the club (Palace) just has a bad smell about it at the moment. A managerial change is not going to solve this. We have a deep rooted attitude problem at the club and it seemingly has worked it's way around the team.

3. The wafer thin squad that could only cope with a handful of injuries - we currently have 9, including several long term ones - particularly failing to get another left back;
4. Poor scouting - any half decent scouting system would have realised that neither Townsend nor Tomkins were what we needed, they would also be coming up with unknown gems from other leagues - there has been no one since Souare;
5. Sticking with Pardew for far too long – it is making Allardyce’s job so much harder now;
6. Poor motivation – different players need different things to motivate and encourage them – some money, some shouting at, some really clear instructions, some positive feedback and encouragement etc. – it seems we have too many underperforming, disinterested looking players – it seems that behind the scenes we aren’t very good at getting the best out of our squad; and
7. Jobs for the boys – we have for far too long looked to coaches with a Palace past – we have to get the best people, not necessarily people who played in red and blue – goalkeeping and defence seem the obvious ones here.
I totally agree with this, its not just one thing that has gone wrong but a succession that has led to where we are now.

I just pray that we somehow get very lucky and stay up this year, so that SA & the board can start to rectify some of these mistakes.

Fitness and concentration for me. For 2016 the team didn't look fit but this season they've taken it to a whole new level of being unfit. I can't understand how PROFESSIONAL footballers can be unfit. Someone/group need to be sacked at the training ground. Pardew has already been given the sack but the coaching team he had needs to go too. I don't need to tell anyone that goals change games, but for me it's the goals we are conceding in the same time period of each half. The final 10 minutes of each half is where we collapse defensively which can only come down to concentration which is a result of lack of fitness. If you had bet on us live in play conceding a goal between the 35th-45th minute and the 80th-90th you would of made a lot of money this season.

Let alone saying Palace can't afford to give away free kicks and corners as we are totally embarrassing at defending them. The u18 team I played for years ago would of dealt with set piece better than this lot. It's like the players think 'here we go again, another goal we're about to let in'. The team on paper we had under Pulis had no right of staying up, but the one thing they was good at was holding a defensive shape and listening to the scream of Pulis telling each individual when to press the opponent. We still have that defensive mindset, but not a good defensive shape and definitely no pressing the opponent. We wait for the opponent to pass the ball to us or to shoot wide or in to the keepers hands. There is no way we should of conceded after scoring last night. The momentum should of been with us and it should of been Swansea that crumbled. As anti-football as it was under Pulis we had a game plan. Defend properly, frustrate the opponent, listen for the managers instruction to squeeze and run at the opponent and find a winger and be productive and smart in the final third. This team just passes between the back 4, will get Puncheon or Cabaye to drop as the quarter back and once he notices no movement in front then give it to Zaha and hope and if that doesn't work then let the back 4 aimlessly punt it to Benteke against 2 centre backs in the hope he will bring it down Peter Crouch style and run and finish like Thierry Henry. Shocking game plan

Spurs away 1-0 loss / 82nd minute set piece

I dunno, we were scoring more goals than three quarters of Premier League teams, just saying that might constitute some progress in some areas at times as I said.

Not really defending Pardew at all, though...the fitness issues were driving me bonkers

Other than Wilf and McArthur, not one of our players can claim to have had even a decent season.

Players like Dann and Puncheon seem to be getting an easy ride when they've been awful up until this point.

Complete indecision.
Parish not knowing when to sack Pardew (first time I've ever criticised him btw)
I said after the cup final give him 10 games, if that. I had a bad feeling coming into this season with Pardew still at the helm, fvck knows how / why Parish can put him on a £4.8m contract.

Then there's the indecision from Pardew....
Burnley 2-2 shit or bust, lose
Swansea 4-3 stick or twist, lose
Man City 1-0 down equalise, lose
Man Utd 1-0 down, equalise, lose
Just game after game of fvcking wrong decisions and poor game management.
We then get Allardyce and the players don't know whether their coming or going with what tactics now.
I also don't like the fact Sam takes over with us already outside the relegation zone, I think if we were already inside it then it looks like a harder job on paper which restricts immediate complacency from the manager but just look at the state of BFS, to be honest I've always disliked him and I can tell it's going to get very toxic very soon.
Pretty much everything about CPFC isn't sitting right with me now
The players, the manager and the yanks.
The yanks have cast a shadow over this club I think, that investment was the kiss of death, it's taken us nowhere but backwards.

Not really defending Pardew at all, though...the fitness issues were driving me bonkers
I don't get this - we weren't winning and hadn't been - does not matter how many you score if you can't stop them going in the other end...yes and fitness was part of that - the other was a complete lack of tactics and strategy

Which is why I was advocating for SP to force Pards to bring in top fitness and defensive coaches...back to where we started
