This. Cabaye was tidy, but not the key player people thnk he is. I noticed many times more things happened when Mac came on even though he is an `uglier` player.

Everyone seems to assume Meyer is Cabaye’s replacement but isn’t it possible Kayoute might play next to Luca and Meyer in RLC’s place? Lots of action on You Tube showing Meyer highlights are of him on left side in advanced areas- just a thought

What’s wrong with showing some ambition?
He began proving himself as a VERY good player at the end of the season, and forced his way into playing in a World Cup. Why would he not want to try and force his way into a team that will probably be playing CL football (I’m not talking about Palace here!).

By the end of last season he was proving himself to be very classy and began getting in better positions, creating more chances and increasingly influencing our games. He’d be an asset for nearly every PL team.

Regardless of his ambition, he’s been very badly advised. He had a decent time with us but even then only played a bit part at the World Cup. If he stays at Chelsea, he will go backwards once again and can forget ever being a regular for England simply because he won’t play enough at Chelsea.

No, the key word here is Chelsea, he won't need to be playing to get called up for England.

SEEPEEFFSEE I think you are right. I very much doubt he will get game time at Chelsea, whereas he was more or less guaranteed it at Palace. Bad move for everyone IMHO

Perhaps his cause wasn't helped by a loan fee which, if the rumour is accurate, went beyond being ridiculous.

Don't people listen to Roy? We did everything we could to get RLC on loan again but they weren't prepared to let him go. It wasn't RLC's decision to make.

If the football authorities had any balls they would close this loophole that allows clubs like Chelsea to stockpile talent and treat them like commodities over their careers. They will make far more out of Loftus Cheek by loaning him out all the time then selling him near the end of his career, then just selling him at 22 years old.

Fully agree. Teams should have a maximum number of contracted players and maybe there should be an age limit of sorts as well. If an outfield player has reached a certain age or number of contracted years without making a fixed number of appearances then they could become free agents

And Parish confirmed this on 5 Live on Sunday.. He said Chelsea took a decision very early on that they weren't going to loan him out this year . So any talk about an exorbitant loan fee is probably incorrect in RLC's case.

If players want the big monies, then they become a commodity. You work under a certain kind of contract, you do as your told. Big money = sell your soul.
Players can't have it both ways.

Kouyate and Luka lacks mobility in terms of acceleration. I'll be shocked if we don't have Meyer in the centre dictating play. Think Kouyate will be an excellent squad player.

Rlc will have to take some personal responsibility for not developing if he stays as a bench player for chelsea

You’re talking utter shit.
Kouyate has plenty of mobility, he used to get the ball and drive it forward for West Ham all the time.

Stop making things up

I read somewhere that Chelsea have 40 players out on loan. Not sure how accurate it is but it can't be right that they can do this.
