Great link . The Chappel kit was class.

My favourites were the 86/87 B&H series and the Perth Challenge kits. Loved that era.

Alastair Cook to write a weekly column for the Sunday Times.

Something to look forward to.

In equally exciting news, RWT Key is now "writing" for the Standard. He is a "character".

The gravy train cometh. There can be surprises though. Stephen Hendry is an excellent commentator/pundit.

Don't like these contrived warm ups. I suppose there are just too few spare days to have a county style 4 day match. If there were I would allow a side to have a batting team and bowling team, but using the two innings four day format.

I don't know enough about the standard of 'county' cricket in other countries but the tourists playing around the grounds here was a highlight of the season.

What about the county champions getting a four dayer against the tourists as part of their prize? Same for one day champs too?

Old school tours used to last for ages, touring side would play proper games..

2 day hit and giggle not really the best prep, although the windies are not at their vintage best

Time was the tour games esp in the UK were a big deal. People came to see the big names and a test trial for aspirin young cricketers hoping to make the England team. A ton against a test attack was something to shout about. Up to about the early 80s every county got tour ame The Aussis essentially played through a full season and sometimes the Windies in their heyday. Wen England went to those places they played nearly oll the state sides between tests Later on it was being seen rather like the FA Cup as a chance for counties to give young pros a run out in first class cricke. Naturally the crowds dropped off. Bit sad I think. Ttwenty was the endof cricket touring as I remember it

Are there going to be any tv highlights of the W Indies tests on terrestrial tv?

Unlikely. Think Channel 5 only have rights to England’s home Tests.

I would be very surprised, away series almost never have free to air highlights.

Dhoni was dropped twice.

India now has won both test and one day series away in Aus.

Maybe the Aussies need to rub the ball against their chins....as sandpaper is not available

For some strange reason, we always have a final as a day match than a day and night, I am assuming this is due to TV scheduling.
