Stayed at Le Manoir a few years back. My ex father in law had always wanted to go there, and had a bit of a windfall. £1,500 a night for a suite, with a shower cubicle that was bigger than my house.
food was unbelievable, and met the great Raymond Blanc afterwards. how's that for a freebie ![]()

£100 would pay for a months worth of food. I appreciate the fact you enjoyed it but to say a plate of food is worth it surely is not the case.

What are the portions of food like in some of these up class restaurants like Ramseys? I imagine not very good.

Cost doesn't necessarily mean good food, Hakkasan has always disappointed for example.
Favourite for food is the Blue Bicycle in York.

Anything is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, surely. I have had many meals which have been worth more than a hundred, although the base ingredients may only have been worth a tenner.

Had my best meal ever at Petrus.
Terre a terre does indeed do lovely vegetarian grub. Food for friends seems to do healthier stuff, and as such, isn't as tasty.

Of course, but in comparison terms its hard to justify how one meal can equal a months worth of food if you get my point. |
