Warnock does like striker or two in his squads!

You can't call him 'The Nuge'. That moniker has been taken a long time ago by Ted Nugent, the Motor City Madman.

perhaps we think it'll persuade him to sign for us:-

"Come on David, sign for us; we've already got a nick-name for you

and probably a song as well"

I feel that this is an important signing for us to make as so far the incoming players can overall be described as average at best.

Sowcroft - brought in as a target man but only managed 3 goals last term, yeah yeah Shipperley blah blah blah but we do need our frontmen to be getting a few more than 3 goals.

Cort - One of Hull's best players last season, probably the pick of the bunch

Kennedy - a left sided player which we've needed badly for some time. Has he still got it at his age? Time will tell but Wolves didn't seem to think so.

Sheringham - one for the future, nothing more surely.

To me this smells of a season bouncing between 8th and 16th before finishing off around 12th. If we were to sign Nugent then it is a very real and clear message of our intentions for the season

Having read Harry Monk's post on the Scowcroft fee several days before it happened I have reason to believe his source is very reliable and we shall see Nugent signing before the Millwall game.

Indeed. I have reason to believe that Mr Monk has a very high profile connection at the club!

Scowcroft played on the wing all season

Wolves did want Kennedy, they offered him a new contract

Ok I stand corrected on Scowcroft and Kennedy. However, my original comment still stands, not exactly pant wettingly exciting are they? Nugent would be, to the fans and no doubt the team.

Wouldn't that put him in the same predicament as AJ last season though? Our hero our saviour the 1 man who will take us up - and what if he doesn't?

It's about having a manager who is able to get the best out of top players without losing the team ethic which you need. Under Dowie we ended up with one tactic, hoof and hope it to AJ, Taylor must make sure that if Nugent comes we get the best out of him without developing such an over reliance on him.
