Also noting previous Posts about getting missed out so someone can have their tea break just infuriates me more. Either southern are bastards because they don't hire enough people to manage this properly or the staff are bastards for showing terrible commitment to the service and their job. The amount of times I've just skipped lunch or come back to work within 8 hours of leaving the night before because we are busy and I don't want to offer my clients poor service means I have absolutely no sympathy with them tbh. I'm sure its all to do with safety or something and is probably quite right that this break is given and taken. However, bastards bastards bastards southern rail bastards I'll be making this journey by car from the spring anyway so I suppose I'll leave this thread alone for a bit. The reason for the change is southern rail are bastards

I wonder how many managers don't get to see their kids at night because they're covering work, or are phoned at 3am on their day off? |

The answer is to pad out train crew diagrams and make sure more breaks or longer times between trains are worked in to the jobs and we all know why this won't happen. |

I don't know why people who actually work for the train companies ever complain. They knew what they signed up for, and if they don't like people moaning or getting up at 3am then they should get a new job.

Someone shared a link a few weeks/months back with where to setup an account and claim partial refunds for delayed or cancelled trains. I can't seem to find it, can anyone help?

Me neither, it's a great job and full of different challenges each day. Yeah we get tired, abuse, various different objects thrown at the train and work unsociable hours but I wouldn't really want to do anything else. Today I was up at 4, but I'll be indoors by 2

I was up at six, i'll be indoors by eight pm if I am lucky.
What's a legal break (though I totally appreciate no one is going to die if don't have a break)?

As stated if you didn't and you had an incident you would be buggered. I don't like doing it, and if I am a little late as long as I get 20-30 mins I am fine. But I have rung control before because I have got in so late that they cancelled my next train and its return journey.

Legal break is 30mins in a 9hour 30min shift. |

If you have a job with two 20 minute breaks your job is basically buggered if you're late for one of them.

Im over for a week from this weekend, so will be using Southern quite allot (From Gatwick to folks and to Villa game etc, and a fair few trips into London Bridge/Victoria). Reading all the comments about London Bridge recently I take it will be better to use Victoria as much as possible?

You work in a job that heavily impacts the public, a "day off" isn't really the same surely...just saying

Got my wording wrong. Should be pretty clear what I meant though...
You didn't give me enough time to edit my post -_-

Maybe when you get a real job you will begin to see things more clearly

I am not clear on the point you are trying to make.
