I've sworn at Southern Staff before when the trains were ****ed and the displays weren't giving any information. The bloke I asked sent me to the wrong platform and the train I wanted then left and he just smiled and said these things happen. I did regret it a bit.
As frustrating as it must be for the drivers, they are still being paid to sit in the delays that are of no fault of their own. We, on the other hands have just finished our jobs and then have extra stress just trying to get home. The bloke probably should have taken a deep breath and walked away but it's understandable. It's not like it's been the first time there has been delays over the last few months. Anyway, I got the later (half hour later) train this morning so I could catch the start of the golf. I got to the office 7 minutes later than I normally do! It helped

Yes, it was me. I was on the well-known train from Oxted to London via Balham. Rumbled...

Like others have said, you brought it on yourself. Totally understandable to verbally abuse someone if you witness them smiling at a colleague.

Latvian - They no longer run the directs out of LB that stop at Carshalton. They still have them in the mornings but not the evenings - Any idea if they bring them back ?

Do u really want the driver of your train who has a highly safety critical job to be stressed whilst in charge of your train, because of some Muppet who can't keep his emotions in check?! Last edited by macstar; 26-09-2014 at 11:49 AM. |

Are you talking about the Wimbledon services? Pretty sure Wimbledon's run from Bridge but my understanding is they run clockwise around the loop at one time of day, and anti clockwise the other. When I was training they went to Streatham then round via Tooting in the morning, so I imagine the evening services go round via Mitcham. Sorry I can't be of more help.

The irony is that it seems acceptable to swear or abuse staff for late trains etc, but we can't do bugger all if someone is holding doors open, delaying a train which could cut short our legally required break or make us finish work / go home late.

I don't think that a normal human thinks it is ok to swear or abuse but I can see why people get upset if wrong info is passed across and I've had to keep a lid on it before when I've been a passenger. |

This must be hugely frustrating. I was on a train home a few months ago and some young gypsy kids were spitting at passengers. The guard saw and chased them down the train until they locked themselves in one of the on-board toilets. The guard (understandably) couldn't use force because the minute he tried to break down the door the kids started accusing him of assaulting them. End result: everyone had to wait until the police turned up to forcibly evict the kids before the train could leave East Croydon.
