Leverkusen stumbling towards the end of the season. Only 4 points ahead of 4th placed Schalke now. 6 games to play.

So Hoffenheim signed Gomes to "protect" Tim Wiese and now he's broken his hand and will miss the rest of the season.

With them being in a relegation dog fight surely now they have to risk Wiese? They can't go into their remaining games with Casteels in goal surely?

"Gomes joined Hoffenheim until the end of the season on loan from Tottenham after former Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese was dropped following an alarming dip in form.

Back-up `keeper Koen Casteels is expected to be supported by next choice Jens Grahl for Hoffenheim's six remaining league games

Hoffenheim, which fired previous coach Marco Kurz and manager Andreas Mueller on Tuesday, is six points from safety in the Bundesliga."

Leverkusen threw away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 with Schalke... Dortmund won 1-6 in Fürth... Third place it is then!!!

Bump, the ex chelsea lad mancion(SP)? Just on talk sport he plies his trade in Germany and obviously one of a few Brits abroad. For those who watch german football on tv or live is he worthy of an England call up? Guessing he's mid/ late 20s now good age for centre half.

He's certainly no better than the like of Lescott, Jagielka or Cahill and that's a real worry for the England National Team.

Watching the highlights this morning on ITV4... but I feel like I need to pick a team to follow. I'm leaning towards Eintracht Frankfurt, seeing as Dynamo Dresden are no longer in the league.

Just to confirm that the great and wonderful Hertha BSC will be back where they belong in the Bundesliga next year. Also up Eintracht Braunschweig and the team in the play off place was confirmed yesterday as FC Kaiserslautern.

Leverkusen won against Hannover which I think secured 3rd as Schalke lost.

Augsburg vs Kaiser looking likely in the play off... I think Augsburg will win if it's them. If Düsseldorf or Hoffenheim end up 16th I think they'll lose.

•Fortuna Düsseldorf 15th, 30 points and -15 goal difference are Away to Hannover 96 last game.

•FC Augsburg 16th, 30 points and -20 goal difference host Greuther Fürth last game.

•1899 Hoffenheim 17th, 28 points and -26 goal difference are Away to Borussia Dortmund last game.

All exciting stuff but you really have to say it's all in Augsburg's hands. Bottom of the League last game... It can't have fallen any better. Hoffenheim need a miracle to stay up... Even if they win they are down if both Düsseldorf and Augsburg draw.

How about the cruelest twist of fate?

Augsburg and Hoffenheim both won whilst Düsseldorf lost sending Düsseldorf down, Hoffenheim into the play off against Kaiserslautern and Augsburg staying up. What an end to the season.

In another weird end to the season in the 2. Liga Sandhausen and Regensburg are relegated but Aue and Dynamo Dresden are level on 34 points... Aue host Sandhausen in their last game, whilst Dresden host Regensburg in their last game... Loser ends up in the Play off.

wow that was dramatic for Hoffenheim, just seen the Bundesliga highlights.
Two penalties against Dortmund. Dortmund had a goal disallowed right at the end, which would have seen Hoffenheim relegated!
