Loan deal to give him a shot at the World Cup? Would he be a guaranteed starter if he moved to Dortmund?

Yes. Both of their goalkeepers have been ******* terrible this season. Sound familiar?

Can we really compete with Dortmund if it comes to the crunch? what do we offer a German National when it comes to choices, choose between a relegation threatened team or one in your homeland that plays Champions league football. Let me think!!!!

They will not be playing Champions League football after tonight. If Spurs do not win tonight the Dortmund need to get the same result (against Real Madrid) as Appoel just to get into the Europa League. They are 10 points off the top already and in a battle just to qualify for Europe next season.

They might be a better shot than us but going there is not a guarantee of European football next season and English teams tend to pay more money.

I was just going by what I had seen of him in a Liverpool shirt. I am forever thankful he hasn't played for like the way i'd seen him play for Liverpool in the past.

Not a guarantee but its extremely unlikely that Dortmund will finish outside the top 6/7 (depending on the DFB Pokal winner.)

Currently 6th, on a run of DLLLDD in their past 6 games, 7th and 8th on the same points. Don;t think they have won a league game since September. Talk of bids for Aubameyang in January and if that happens a lot will depend on how they reinvest that money as he score 40% of their goals.

If they don't win their next 2 against sides lower in the table they could have a tricky January.

They’ve been very unlucky with injuries from what I’ve gathered, poor form but a winter break to gather themselves. Only 4 points off second and with Europa league in the background instead of their typical champions league knockouts, they’ll be fine. I’d be interested to hear “BVB Bob’s” thoughts though.

Regardless to what stats you put forward, the simple fact is as a German there would be very little doubt in his mind as to which club Crystal Palace or Dortmund he would choose, and that was my point.
As for their doubt about Champions league progress this season that may be so currently, but this is a club that normally qualifies season after season slightly different to our own ambitions. They are poles apart from CPFC in every sense.
But if he were to choose Palace i would be delighted, but i am taking a realistic take on it.

Nonsense.
Assuming there is substance behind this rumour, it will depend on his character - does he want the "safe option", or is he intrigued by the opportunity of playing in the Prem. Default is probably the "safe option" since footballers and German footballers, are not known for their adventurous spirit, but there are enough Jens Lehmanns and Juergen Klinsmanns to give us a bit of hope.

Given his reputation and clear ability he could find a better opportunity to play in the Prem at some point, i.e not a club constantly battling relegation with lower championship infrastructure. Yes Mandanda happened but he didn’t want to come here, was forced by Marseille due to financial troubles, and unless a financial crash strikes Qatar, PSG aren’t going to have problems like that. If Trapp favours a move to the Prem based on gold digging or fancying “the challenge,” it will all depend on if any other clubs are interested, as at least half the clubs in this league are more attractive moves on paper than Palace.
