His injury record hasn’t been bad in the past two seasons, at least by his standards.

Yes it is. Just depends on who it is. Like any rumour from any form of news media.

Yes, he's talented and capable of running a game as he did against us at Selhurst, but can't help feeling he is vastly over rated and a talent unrealized.

Can't help thinking he is going to stay at Arsenal as he is not going to get a better gig and will look better in their team than being exposed in another.

He barely pulled up any trees at Bournemouth (no goals and mimimal assists and dropped towards the end of the season).

In fact, assuming I have got a correct source, his career record is really abject for such a highly rated player. 8 goals in 166 appearances and 1 since 2014/15 ?

Ultimately I would trust Roy's call on this either way but must be Roy's call as it would be a no for me otherwise.

The tendency recently is for the big clubs to go for more physically dominant midfield players who are at least 6 foot.So skillful small players like Wilshere would need to be offset by taller players.
This is what makes Loftus-Cheek a greater option although ironically heading is probably the weakest part of his game.

Think he just isn’t needed in Arsenal’s midfield. They’ve got Ozil who’s capable of running games, behind him Ramsey in the engine room, and next to Ramsey they need a big, tough player who can break up play and shield the defence. That’s not Wilshere, and although Xhaxa kinda fits that description, he’s looked fairly average so far in England.

Do love twitter sometimes. One tweet read "it is confirmed that Jack Wilshire and 9 of his medical team were released by Arsenal yesterday"

LOL - funny but like all good humour, near to the truth.

It goes without saying that a fit, in form and hungry Jack Wilshere would be an amazing add but there has to be questions over all 3 labels. My biggest question is does he have the passion and urgency for the game still. It's not a game of chess or just a day at the office. The best I saw him play last season was against Palace (typical!) where he pretty much ripped us apart, bossing the game and the ref. He looked up for that one.

I think that as well as his stream of injuries, one of his problems is that Arsenal never really found him the right partner once Fabregas left. Someone on the same wavelength that will seal the gaps and make the spaces and passes for him. If he can strike a good partnership with Cabaye and Luka then he could be something special which is important for him. Too as if not it could signal his slide out of Football. TBH by any stretch, coming to Palace will leave 3/4 of the country thinking that's started already.

He didn't do well at Bournemouth but didn't have the players behind, alongside or in front of him. At Palace he might be in better shape but far from perfect. It's a big gamble, for Palace and Wilshere but could be an interesting one.

One other thought is that if put our eggs in this basket and then he repeats his injury pattern then we have nothing. Just scoping the size of that risk.

Noticed Josh King might be available. Could fit Roy's 'wide forward shape and has played with a jack. So....

No holding my breath on either.

IF this is true (and I still can't decide 100% whether I want it to be true or not, though I kinda think I do.... or do I??), then it suggests to me we already know that we will be losing one or more of Ruben, Yohan, Luka or JimmyMac. Not enough room for 5 players of that calibre, with a couple realistically aware they will be bench-warmers at best, or should I say, none of them will be happy with that if it were to be the case.
Perhaps we have already given up on re-signing RLC either permanent or loan

Honestly can’t see anyone risking more than £15M on a transfer fee

But even on a free you’d probably have to cough up £10M signing on fee to get his agent interested
