Read in my local rag here that Brett Holma feels he is on the outer at Villa. Could he do the right job for us? Apologies if this has already been discussed....

I know you should never judge by a youtube video but midfielder Tonny Vilhena is ace. Just 18yrs old, already capped for Holland, and a product of the Feyenoord youth system. Wouldn't be cheap but I bet he wants to play in the EPL.....To view the link you have to Register or Login

Just watching Real Madrid vs Osasuna and there was a decent looking forward for Osasuna called Manuel Onwu. Had a look at his stats and he's actually only played 5 matches for them since 2012, but he scored 23 goals in 106 matches for Osasuna B.
I'm only judging on what I saw in that match vs Madrid just now, but he looked pretty decent. To view the link you have to Register or Login |

Vladimir Weiss is on a free, quality winger! Was amazing in Serie A for a relegated Pescara side.

Salem Al-Dossari and Ibrahim Ghaleb are the only Saudi players I can see make it in Europe. Even then, Premier League is a stretch.
Salem plays in a very similar style to Zaha. Lots of flair and skills, less end product. He scored in his first international against Australia: /watch?v=S68BCp6uKmk Ghaleb is without a doubt my favourite young Asian player. Defensive midfielder who has a great eye for a pass and decent shot as well. Needs to work on his physical side though but he really shows promise. Both are 21. I can honestly see both in Europe. But I can't see either making it in the EPL as it is now - the potential is there no doubt though. There's no way it would happen, but I would absolutely love to see Ghaleb in a red and blue shirt |

Diskerud has had a good start to the season at Rosenborg. Shame..he was on a free in january..hmm. Don't think Cunningham have played much though. Bijev yeah had him at Start..didn't get a look in..wasn't fit at all..according to Start. Saying something when you couldn't get into that side last year.

I´m Icelandic and could recommend a few players. Icelanders have a history of doing well in english football, for example Herman Hreidarsson, Ivar Ingimarsson, Aron Gunnarsson, Heidar Helguson, Eidur Gudjohnsen....so, here goes.
Alfređ Finnbogason, striker, 24yo, Heereenven. Scored alot of goals in the dutch league this season and is an estabilsehd international. Will move on to bigger and better things. Aron Jóhannsson, striker/winger, 20yo, AZ Alkmaar. Was top scorer in the danish league this season before AZ snapped him up. He was born in USA and they want him to play for them internationally. He is still undecided wich country he´ll eventually play for. Jóhann Berg Guđmundsson, winger, 22yo, AZ Alkmaar. Very direct, left footed winger. Pacy, skillfull and good crosser. Established international already. Birkir Bjarnason, midfielder/winger, 25yo, Pescara. Very hard working, fast and skillfull. Key player for the national team. Already plays in the Serie A so might not be a realistic target. Ragnar Sigurđsson, centre back, 26 yo, FC Kopenhavn. Strong and solid. Nr. 1 centre back for Iceland and the biggest team in Denmark. Ári Freyr Skúlason, definsive midfielder/left back, 26yo, GIF Sundsvall. He is pretty much the icelandic Johnny Parr (we could do with two couldn´t we?). What he lacks in skill he makes up for in work rate and tenacity. He will be leaving his club for a bigger european team pretty soon. Björn Bergmann Sigurđarson, striker, 22yo, Wolves. He is regarded as the most promising Icelandic striker right now, even though he had a very difficult time with Wolves this season. They signed him last summer for 2.4 million and he would probably be available for a lot less now since they are league 1 (haha!). He will slaughter league 1 next season if he´s still there. He will be Prem quality one day. If we are smart that could be with us.

Great info. Makes you wonder if Holloway is aware of all this.
Pescara were relegated so Bjarnason could be on the radar. Sigurđarson's wages might be an issue but definitely worth looking into, Wolves still get parachute payments but League 1 has strict FFP rules these days so will need to sell quite a few players. |

Some promising players in Iceland sure, but alot of good youngsters get snapped up by foreign clubs before they play alot in Iceland. The jump from the icelandic league to the premiership is colossal so I wanted to mention players that are already pros playing in decent leagues and have some international experience.
I can´t really think of anyone in the Icelandic league right now that would strengthen our squad...I might be wrong though...

We should max out on Saudi players in the hope of snaring Saudi Aramco as a backer. Now THAT would be a signing. Don't think they are affiliated to anyone yet. |
