Then kicked into long grass of 2020, but now dropped apparently. This is going to piss off the grey vote, once more of them realise. It's front page on some of today's papers. |

The cap is back. May has promised it in a Green paper to be published after the election.

The MP on the Marr show said there'd be no rethink, even though Marr specifically brought up the cap with him (the 2015 commission proposal). I don't know if I trust them on this matter....they could just as easily 'consult' and then reject it again this summer. Worthless gesture now. |

I'm assuming you've no experience of having a close relative with dementia then - which is good because you wouldn't wish that on anyone and the people that work in dementia care homes are absolute and utter heroes

It was so obvious that they would. It seems to me that the Tories didn't pre-test this manifesto policy with potential voters, because it was clearly a back track on their 2015 manifesto.
Some of us have been predicting this u-turn, the only surprise was that they didn't do it before the Sunday media coverage. |

Embarrassing, but now it's actually quite a good policy and an improvement on what we have today.

It wasn't a u-turn. Merely a clarification. Or something.

And if the cap is set at £200k (average house price say £300k less £100k), we are all back to square one.
