Kept a secret?? I haven't heard the club telling anyone Mackay is next manager!? Parish said he would like to have the new man in place today and Malkys odds dropped massively so they assumed we were announcing A new manager. This happened last time with petrescu.. At the end of the day if Mackay wasn't right then move on to next candidate. Nobody knows what's going on, funnily enough, because the club aren't telling anyone! So chill out and wait and see. Millen will be in charge this weekend, been confirms already so don't be expecting anything before then.

You always look like and idiot for taking time over a decision. The media wants instant answers and tries to makes everything look simple. I'm glad we're not playing their game. If the appointment takes longer than expected, so be it. I'd rather wait a bit and get the right malky.

We all know what happened when Steve Coppell came in as Manager... after showing us how good a footballer & captain he was here. There's someone who's almost the same out there staring us in the face, but probably wouldn't want the job as he's tied up with his charity work. SP, have you got Geoff Thomas in your phone book? Best captain ever apart from Jim Cannon & used to love Palace anyway! Now he's a determined guy.

Why. Because pulis walked out because we didn't sign 2 players. Because we haven't appointed his replacement within 6 days? If the board were planning to sack the manager then you would expect a new one in place soon after. If as has happened with the last 3....They walk for whatever reason...then you are on back foot and need to gather thoughts. All this means is we have not sacked any of the last 3 managers so board can't be accused of over reacting to on field performances. Club should be commended not ridiculed. Pulis is going to wham after international break

This might get slated, but it is true to a degree at least. I had Man U, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham fans taking the pi** today. They might seem like di*ks for doing it, but you can kind of see their point - it must look to everyone outside the club like we've imploded even before the second game of the season.

It seriously doesn't. And as for 'once again', it hasn't looked a laughing stock since Jordan was running the club.

Yep. In other words, a right bunch of hardnuts! Exactly what's needed in this situation. Cool heads, steely resolve and a refusal to be steered off their chosen course even while the clock is ticking. If the team can show as much focus and determination on the pitch this season we're going to be all right.

He did. Put in a cracking cross for Phil Barber's goal in Jim Cannon's testimonial. Even with effectively one leg he was still in a class of his own that night.

This is the bit I really don't get. A laughing stock? To who? You? Then I'd wager that your very easily embarrassed and, really, there have been far more cringe-worthy moments in our history but its part of the fabric of the club that we love.

To others? Why do we give a shit what others think? Particularly other clubs fans in this league - they support odious clubs on average who I'd be ashamed to support based upon their palsticity or wankerishness of their players / owners.

Starting to get very worried. Whatever way you spin this, it doesn't look good in terms of us being able to bring in a new manager and give him time to make some decent signings. Unless he is happy to buy the players Moody and Parish want. This is what most worries me - parish and Moody bringing in their favoured players. May as well ask a teenager on championship manager to have a go...

Same here. I take no notice of course, Palace have had far greater days which have received ridicule, so this is water off a ducks back. All that disappoints is that we had one of the most respected managers and teams in the league until last Thursday, now look at us before a massive game on Saturday.

Quite.

I notice how none of the poor excuses for journalists retrospectively praised the club for taking a while to make the right appointment having torn us apart during the process. Wankers.

But have we? I don't think we have. This happened before when holloway left, being called a joke club etc. that joke club finished 11th. Who gives a shit what man utd arsenal spurs fans think?! Certainly not me. There is a pressure from the media for us to make a decision and from
My point of view i see parish and co not bowing to that pressure and making sure they get the right man.

The truth is nobody knows because the club are doing things the right way and keeping their cards close to their chest. And because of this media are speculating, markets are fluctuating and people are reacting.

What because Ssn have a poll it must be true? It is likely that there are people who may know stuff i.e agents etc that will be telling their mates to make a few quid but nobody knows what the board are thinking.
