According to the BBC Cole wants 70 K a week .Obviously he is worth this money as is Rio Ferdinand with his demands 120K . When I were a lad the saying was " It is a short career ,so you have to make it while you can." At these rates you could play for one season and be made for life. Surly a case of the lunatics running the asylum.

I suspect it is more than that actually.

After his illicit meetings with Russia plc he apparently went back and demanded that Arsenal triple his salary, and I rather think that he is on more than 25k per week currently.

As I've been repeating ad nauseum, football has gone mad and I'm heartily sick of the greed and corruption that now pervades it.

And everyone that pays the ludicrous prices now being asked in order to attend games is contributing to this madness.

The clubs are at fault for paying them these wages.

We can only hope that market forces bring them back down to reasonable levels....it's starting to happen, but the big three will always pay big money *****il Roman gets bored of course)

funny thing is they rate Gael Clichy very highly so i'd tell him to piss off to chelsea, get £15/20 million for him and play Clichy, who's probably on around £15,000

people should deffo stop paying things like pay per view etc and if we all stopped subscribing to sky sports, they would have to do something........but it will never happen! I guess unlesssomeone sorts out some descent steaming.

When I first started going to football (35 years ago), the cost of attending was equivalent to going to see a film.

Now, a film costs what, £5? And a football match in the Premiership must average out at about £35. It's ridiculous.

I've resolved that henceforth I will not pay more than:

£30 in the Premiership
£25 in the Championship
£20 in League 1
I hope I don't ever have to worry about League 2.

Anyone that asks more than that for me to attend a game won't be getting my money anymore.

As for Ashley boy, I like the lad for what he did for us in the short time he was here and he IS probably one of the best full backs around but £4 million a year - your aving a larf son!!!
