Djordjevic snubs palace
Olympiacos skipper Predrag Djordjevic turned his back on Southampton, Crystal Palace and Bolton to sign a new contract with the Greek giants, according to his British-based agent.
The three English clubs were all ready to pounce if the creative Serbo-Montenegrin international midfielder failed to agree terms with the Athens outfit. The interest from Palace and Southampton was more concrete but Bolton's Stelios Giannakopoulos had also recommended his former Olympiacos team-mate to Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce. However, the 32-year-old is now likely to see out the rest of his career in Greece after pledging his future to the club despite the resignation of coach Dusan Bajevic last week. His agent in England, Sam Stapleton, said: "Palace and Southampton expressed an interest in Pedja if he didn't sign for Olympiacos. "Pedja is a big star in Greece but we were unsure what was going to happen with a new manager coming in. If he wasn't going to play in Greece then he was interested in coming to England. "Bolton had expressed an interest after Stelios, who played with Pedja for many years at Olympiacos, recommended him." Djordjevic originally arrived in Greece in 1993, helping third division outfit Panaliakos to successive promotions before moving to Olympiacos in 1996 and helped his team to the league and cup double this season. not sure about him.Hes quite old at 32.anyobne know anything on him?

I haven't seen him play but in any case a 32 year old isn't exactly one for the future.

We couldn't afford the cost of putting his name on a shirt anyway.

Goalscoring left sided midefielder - doubt he'd have wanted to swap appearances in the Champions League for the Championship! Shame though - 32 or not he looks like a decent enough player. |

All we have on this is his agent saying we "expressed an interest".
So about as much credibility as a steaming dog turd.. His agent probably posted a tape of players all over England and Palace said "thanks very much goodbye". |

Great player, we would never have got him though.

Fantastic player, a huge influence on the pitch, but I imagine in the next season or so he's going to lose his ability, I noticed in their game against Newcastle he was just a bit off the pace in the second half and I think age showed. Would have been great in Championship but wages would have been huge.

No chance we'd get him. He's the captain of Olympiakos ffs!
