Croydon Pubs and Clubs shutting down
Having been out in Croydon on Friday night, i noticed that the Litten Tree and Bar Med have now joined Blue Orchid, Pals, Brannigans and Cinatres in shutting down.
Where will the next place be to shut down? I went into the Old Brief and my money is on that shutting down. Hardly anyone in there and was run down.

Litten Tree & Bar Med both had signs saying they was "Restocking".
The problem is Croydon is not as popular as it used to be. Walkabout wasnt verr busy when I went two weeks back.

Cinatras has shut down?
All you could drink for £17 - how could that be wrong? plus the added bonus of sticking to the floor, happy days |

Croydon's not as popular because your average normal people can't be arsed going out there because of the number of chavs and little twats running riot after they've had one too many snakebites. I'm only a short bus ride away from Croydon but I rarely go out there, if at all, because it's such a shite night out.

Ive also niticed that The Bonbonee (or however you spell it) at Good Old Ernill has been demolished (or was that the aftermath of a particuarly lively Satutrday Night?)

I was there on saturday night and it was good fun - there were some incredible chavettes out. One literally made me stop in mid sentence. She was enormous, with a sort of glittering building frame ON TOP OF HER HEAD. She turned round and said "S'alright alot of people are speechless when they see me". Cripey.
Not too busy though, I noticed, as i sat out on George Street at closing time sipping my Pernod and reading Le Monde.

that used to be Bar Coast, then something else, then Flares (70's) and now Reflex. I think they are going to change it every so often to keep up woth what people want ![]() Shame about the Litten Tree, nice Sunday afternoon pub. I think in Croydon there's been an over saturation of bars to the point that this was bound to happen sooner or later. I never go out in Croydon now because you can't feel safe there, and if more people feel like me, then there's your answer.

I only seen two incidents in Croydon, both involved people being bottled over the head on the Dance floor. Croydon is no worse than anyother town centre on a Fri/Sat night.

Flares, 70's bar for two or three years. Currently Reflex which is an Eighties theme bar and has been for a couple of years. My estimation is that it must be due to be changed into a 90's themed bar in a few months. With nostalgia inflation running at such a high rate I don't think it will be long before these bars have to go into the future for a theme.
