Aaron Fray
Young Aaron Fray seems to have leapt from obscurity to first team regular (friendlies anyway
). Is Aaron ready to make the big step-up this year ? What's the story ? |

From the official site: Aaron is a right-sided full-back who played consistently well last season for the Under 18s and reserve sides. He is quick and strong especially when defending in one-on-one situations and going forward he overlaps well and deliver quality balls into the box.

Nowhere near the quality of Boyce but he has potential!

He's been playing left back. Unlucky to be sent off on wednesday but got caught up in the heat of the moment. Played alright on Saturday though.

Playing because Granville and Borrowdale both have knocks.

Does anyone know what has happened to him? He seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. What went wrong, seeing how he was touted for big things 3 years ago?

Had a hamstring/pevic problem similar to what Ifill has that kept him out for over a year. Back training and hopefully will start playing regular again

Back in training and getting games in for the reserves. Quality player and would love to see him as our first choice right-back soon. Has pace, strength and loves a crunching tackle.

Aaron, along with Lewis Spence and to a certain degree, Rhoys Wiggins are becoming the lost generation in many respects.
Let's just hope their injury nightmares are over now! |

This player has suffered from a number of injury setbacks, which were either reported in the local media or in the official Match Programme. He was an unused sub v Aldershot at home last October, and started the game v Leyton O.Reserves on 26.2.08. According to Nigel Cox in his "Treatment Table" page in the Blackpool home Programme: "Aaron Fray and Lewwis Spence played 45 competitive minutes and came through unscathed" in a reserve team friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge played on the training ground recently which Palace won 3-2. Also in that game: "Rhoys Wiggins played an hour at left back and the game also marked the return of James Dayton after his cruciate ligament surgery in September" Perhaps then it may be a little premature to label these players the "lost generation" especially after all their hard work in rehabilitation? It's amazing how many quality youngsters we have. Lets hope they all come back as good as they were before their injuries - there were big things expected of them (especially Wiggins and Dayton,) and it could be like having 4 new players in the squad.

Dayton has another year and I believe Fray and Spence are out of contract in June.
Not sure about Wiggins. I would imagine they would all be given another season as Warnock has yet to see them in action properly. Would be a mistake to just release them without see how each player does when injury free.

I reckon' Spence and Fray will be released. Nothing personal. Players will need to released to allow others to join and Warnock has nothing or little to based their worth on.

Even maybe a 6 month deal to prove themselves.

I'd like to see them at least kept on until January next year, but there is a case for "freeing up space" for new signings also!

Surely getting rid of the likes Kuqi Kennedy Flinders Hughes Craig & dare I say it Lawrence before promising youngsters who due to injury have not had a chance makes more sense.
