Downloaded in about 10 minutes for me...

It's been so long since I've played FM. Went into my first match, a pre-season friendly against Dorchester with playing a 4-3-3 with Clint, AJ and Macken all starting. 20 minutes in and I'm 2-0 down :-/

Change it round to a more traditional 4-4-2 at half time. End up getting beat 3-0.

Ah well... got a bit better when I beat Bristol City 6-3 the next game with an attacking 4-4-2 with Macken and McAnuff getting two apiece.

Haven't really had much time but it sure looks and feels nice.

Without having played it long it looks like it could well be a big improvement. Little things like the increased access to stats, the better organised right click menus and the general feel just seem better somehow... will need to play a fair while longer before I make up my mind just yet though.

FM2005 was decent but had too many niggly little problems for me to really grow to like it. if they have fixed those problems and tweaked it then I'm sure this game will be a lot better.

As with Rob though I can't download the bloody thing

Well I'm a tactical genius... 0-0 at half time against TNS so I express my disappointment at the performance and send them back out for the second half. 47 minutes in and Aki makes ammends and puts Palace in the lead.

65th minute sitting on a comfortable 1-nil I make some wholesale changes to give more guys some minutes. Speroni for Kiraly, Butts for Boyce, Granville for Borrowdale, Hudson for Hall, Kolkka for McAnuff, Soares for Watson, Freedman for AJ, Macken for Clint.

Full time. TNS 4-1 Palace.

I totally love the quick tactics option though

I hope you don't have to make wholesale changes to the squad like you had to last year. That was so annoying.

Might wait for the official demo download though.

I re-did the stats for every player in the squad from scratch this summer. Hopefully a few of them should play a little more realistically now!
