Who thinks AJ is World Class?
Not me!

He is a very good, industrious player but, is no where near world class.

Going on info from previous threads I am led to think that the majority of Palace fans believe he is world class! I actually don't believe he is an International player either. England would never win a world cup with AjJupfront

The rumour of him going to Arsenal to replace Henry is a joke!

I love AJ and would love to think he would stay with us but, I am under no illusions about his ability!

I agree. Very few players today in world football are truly world class. He has the potential to be very very good. Just sad it wont be with us.

I think AJ has the potential to be the greatest goal scorer that ever lived, better than Pele!

You don't need to be world class to replace a world class player - you just don't "replace" them fully.

How does one define "world class" anyway? Seems like a bit of an arbitrary title to me.

For the record I don't think AJ is, nor do I think he will ever be a successful international. What he does well he is superb at, but there is too much lacking to his game to take him to the next level, IMHO.

I see him carving out a career in the Premiership but I think his career will mirror that of Kevin Phillips; Two very similar players.

I'd like to think AJ will end up better than Phillips in the long term. Phillips goalscoring exploits were excellent at Sunnerlun. But crucially, he seemed to join the wrong clubs after that. He joined Southampton at the start of their downturn when Strachan left. Next he went to another would-be crisis club in Villa. It all depends on which club AJ joins to see whether he is successful long term. If he say goes to a stable club Everton it might be good for him. However, if he goes to say a Wigan, who's best players are leaving a sinking ship, or a Pompey, who are constantly flirting with relegation, I don't think it'd be such a good move.
