Need to burn a divx
I have a DVD on my hard drive in a .divx format and I'd like to burn it onto a CD. Being a divx thing, I presume I can just open Nero and burn but I can't seem to work out:
a) what kind of CD I need b) what to do in the nero burning room c) if the file format is good to just burn straight onto it Thanks, Oliver ![]()

sorry i read it as cd, you need to burn it as a data dvd. Might want to put more than one file on there though as otherwise it will be a waste of a disk

I just opened it (and have now burnt it onto a DVD-R) with a programme called DivX Player.

It will only play on a dvd player if divx is supported

Most modern DVD players will play a DivX file if burned as a data file onto CD-R or DVD+_R (and some on DVD-RW as well). DivX (and it's variations including XVid) is a lossy compression standard. Most pirate films found on the Internet (News Groups and P2P) are encoded using DivX - a film with reasonable quality lasting 2 hours will typically have a file size of about 750mb (compared to 4.7gb on a standard DVD).
