Totally agree. And to TOM yes it was the game when their keeper, Eric Nixon, was sent off.

So obvious the pair of us were Palace. It was freezing cold and we were all wrapped up while the Teesiders were, as usual, sporting their uniform t-shirts
Thats the one! Amazing game.

Blimey! Had forgotten about that.

Remember Grimsby well, especially the Leeds lot getting on with some bloke called hovis, we had got on some sort of sprinter to start with I think. Great result, good old Gray. Good day out. Remember when the heating broke down on the coach on the way to Middlesborough... widdle of minter.? A 1-1 draw I think.

Sunderland away, coppers were very rude..... RAF dog display team for some reason at half time, another draw I think.... Portsmouth away, always good fun.

Reading, pouring with rain.... some weeder getting ready to glass me in Brighton cos I didn't want to give them my scarf... Bring back the old days. Open terraces and rain, proper grounds, Steve Coppell and good old fashioned hope and feling the club was moving forward.

Well unless two people kicked Burridge up the arse then you are wrong.

I am not disclosing the name of the person who went down for the incident but he is still a regular and known to several people on this site.

If someone called Keith was involved then it was for something else.

The plot thickens......

I remember that only too bloody well I was late for the coach and had phoned asking if they could wait for 10 minutes or so. I got to the ground, parked in the car park and run over to the coaches I'd just passed only to see them driving down Whitehorse Lane with my mate waving at me from the back of the coach I went to Euston and will never forget the reply when I asked how much the train fare was "£32 single or £30 return, which did I want?" When I got to Carlisle station I was met by about 40 coppers waiting for the Palace mob when they found out it consisted of me they said I could make my own way to the ground.

After I finally got into the ground I found that my mates were in the seats opposite having got free tickets To round things off I found out the coaches had got there about 5.30pm and most people had spent a couple of hours in a local pub (The Beehive?) last minute equaliser made it all worthwhile though. Seven years to the day later I got banned from every ground in the country

Cardiff away when the home fans turfed us out of the away enclosure after strong resistance from me and 2 mates and then the Barmy melbourne army arrived late and had a go at the cardiff followed by skirmishes after the game in the seats behind the goal where the small bunch of palace fans turfed out of the away end had taken refuge .
