Sainsbury's
Am I dreaming that Sainsbury's used to have to shut on match days. I seem to remember that they were shut up and we used their front car park but I may just be imagining the whole thing - it's not important really but it is bugging me - did it happen or am I cracking up?

No it doesn't.
Sainsburys shut the main part of the store, but the front part which sells confectonary stays open. The new coffee shop is also open right upto kick off.

Always thought it would make a very handy social club for us with a stand built on top.

I remember when it was opening a rumour went round that workers got free tickets to games.
My mate went for an interview and at the end asked if this was true, they said no, so he left. |

Sainsburys are given the tickets free from the club, but charge their employees £5 for them.

There are two fire exits in Sainsbury's which lead into the Whitehorse Lane Stand concourse. One of the reasons why the supermarket shuts one and a half hours before the game - so that people can't pose as innocent shoppers then charge through the supermarket fire exit into the ground when no-one is looking!

How does that work then ? So if there is a fire on a Thursday morning, the fire exits lead the fleeing customers into an enclosed place that is locked, is it just me or is that a bit stupid ?

They'd flee into the Whitehorse Lane stand concourse, then could freely walk through onto the pitch or just sit in the seats

Yeah it was me being stupid. Teach me to post late at night when I am half a kip. Just thought great they get out of Sainsburys and there in the tunnel under the stand then where do they go ? Totally fogot they can just walk through into the stands. Told you I was half a sleep. Though have to say Maidstoned surpirsed that the ground was unlocked and you can just walk through to the pitch.

Always a gate open round by Crystals. I've taken a couple of people in there, they don't seem to mind as long as you don't go on the pitch. |
