Palace World Problems
since getting orange livebox I can no longer view video's or listen to live commentary on palace world - any one else had this problem - would be grateful for any suggestions so that I can listen to todays match

Are you still using IE to browse? if yes it sounds like you may have some settings wrong, unless it's the orange software thats cocked it up.

Thanks Brummie Al ,

I have tried disabling the livebox firewall and also IE firewall
individually and also at the same time - no further forward and missed yesterdays win
Never mind when I do listen I feel like I,m a jinx .
Prefer no coverage/win to coverage /lose

Hi there, does anyone have serious buffering problems/slow playback when watching Palace highlights on Palace World?

Im thinking of cancelling my subscription as its so poor. Is it my settings or does anyone else get this please?

I've just been on PW using AOL, Firefox and IE7 all worked very well, picture quality very good, no buffering problems, started video between 5 and 10 seconds after starting, streaming at 641 Kbit/second. Even tried running all of them together, any two ran fine but stuttered a bit when running all three but I can't blame PW for that.

I'm sure the problem is at your end but not sure how to cure it.

Hi,

I am having the exact same issue. Tried FF & IE, exactly the same. Anyone any ideas? I wish you could just download the clip first and then watch in your own time, and not worry about buffering.

I am in Australia, but have good net connection. Its 11pm your side of the world, so cant be that many people logged on to Palace World!

Snap, I am in the same boat. Wm opens and i have a reflector showing that i am connected but no sound. I too am on orange.

Have tried connecting via live as well nothing at all happens.

Proper bummer. Any suggestions very very welcome. There is not even somebody at world we can contact.

Well that was my next port of call, trying to contact someone at Palace World.

I know when I first started using the service, there was an option to download the clip, but now that is not there to click.

I'm a bit confused when you go to match highlights have you got a media player on the web site that you are watching or are you opening up WMP? The on site player for the match highlights has the option to download. When I do that it's even not bad in full screen.

I must admit there's no download button on the news videos, they seem to open up a different player.

Hey Alan, I think a few of us have different issues, i can't listen to live streams hence the wm ref. Same as Jaylittle the thread starter, I too am on orange live box.

Some of the other lads seem to have probs watching highlights.

sorry thread got hijacked, I just try to help all comers. my problem is all my PW features seem to work all the time but if I was to state on here that you all changed over to AOhell I would get slated.

do you get the problem when you use the link on page one of the match thread (Les Butler)?

Yeah it does not work lol, from memory media opens, and a reflector no appears and it starts counting connection time but no sound. Bloody annoying.

Thats what it must be then. I meant the news items have not option to download. I know I saw the download option somewhere - obviously on the goal highlights.

Does it say anything about acquiring license? if yes, at that point it should start playing ( of course assuming you have paid for WP and have logged on to PW world at some time on that computer for it to download the license to it.

Another thing to try if you don't do it already is to go on to the internet by clicking Internet explorer and not the orange icon that might help.

I just thought of something else SMURPHY I'm sure I had that problem for a short time when I reloaded my computer, not sure but WMP updates or downloading the latest ver. rings a bell. I know originally when PW started using licenses it would only work on IE but now it works on everything ( not sure about MACs)
