January Transfers-Good or Evil?
They seem to attract a lot of bad press. Many managers come out and say its not the right time to buy etc
It seems to me however that if used well, they can be a real asset. Ferguson signing Vidic and Evra in January was a big factor to winning the title the next season. Evra in particular had a lot of bad games in those first few months while he got used to the rigours of the Premiership. Desperate transfers no. Long term transfers yes. |

For that reason alone they are evil.

A necessary evil in my opinion. Imagine week in week out speculation about Scannell, Moses, Bostock etc. I don't think i could handle it.

Tends to box sides in if they're low down the table. No one wants to come and the better players want to leave. Would it all be so feverish if transfers could be made through the season.
