Best game you've ever seen?

What is the best match you've ever watched, either live or on TV?

For me, it's Czech Republic 3-2 Holland from Euro 2004, it had everything.

No surprises its got to be the 1990 Semi-Final versus Liverpool. The rollercoaster that is being a Palace fan was all there in that one match. What a feeling when that final whistle blew!

Looking beyond Palace matches:

France v Brazil 1986 world cup
Coventry v Spurs FA Cup final 87
Leicester v Swindon play off final mid 90's
Liverpool v Milan champions league final 2005
England v Germany in both 1990 world cup and Euro 96 and the Argentina game in France 98 (even though we lost all 3 on pens)

Sorry I can't think of one game exclusively.

Brazil v Italy in '82 was immense - that Brazil team was the best ever.

For Palace, aside from the obvious ones, 4-3 v Millwall in the late 80s was a good'un settled by Brighty from 30 yards in the last minute.

From a Palace fan viewpoint, the 4-3 against Liverpool.

Although being able to say I've seen us win at Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, Villa.....are all pretty sweet too.

From a "world" viewpoint, probably mostly major tournament games -

France - Portugal at Euro 84
France - Germany WC 82
Holland - Scotland WC 78
England - Holland Euro 96
France - Brazil WC 86
England - Argentina the friendly a couple of seasons back

The play-off semi at the Stadium of Light ranks very highly amongst my favourite football memories as it was a cracking night but not really because it was a great game of football.

The best game (or should that say the most amazing game) I ever saw in real life is quite probably the night Middlesbrough scored 4 goals in 55 minutes when they came back from 3-0 down (2-0 down on the night) against Steaua to reach the UEFA Cup Final. The UEFA Cup Quarter Final tie a few weeks before the Steaua game against Basle wasn't half bad either when again Boro scored 4 goals in 60 minutes to win 4-3 in Europe.

Absolutely incredible games. Shame Boro capitulated so badly in the final...

I'm biased, but for me it's easy.

Southampton 3-4 Leeds, three years ago in the Championship. 3-0 down at half time, Southampton looking sharp and playing us off the park. With 20 mins to go we're still 3 down, then on comes David Healy and suddenly we're running riot, pull two back, then Healy upended in the box, penalty with about 2 mins left, 3-3, then Liam Miller taps in a last minute winner to put us up into the top six.

Absolutely crazy, mental, brilliant.

Aside from Palace, I think Liverpool 5-4 Alaves in the UEFA cup final in 2001. I cannot imagine a more mental game of football. The next day I was just so chuffed to be a football fan.
