HTC Touch Diamond or iPhone
My contract is up at the end of the month and I am pretty certain I am going to get one of these two excellent phones to replace my Vario2 (Tytn). Was going to go with the 3g iPhone launched 9th June allegedly but the Touch Diamond is looking like it could be an iPhone killer. Opera 9.5 built in which looks like its as good as Safari on the iPhone but the killer feature is a full VGA (640x480) screen. A 3.2mp camera, GPS and a touch and position sensitive screen but only 4gb on non expandable memory built in. I guess it will all depend on the feature list and form factor for the iPhone. Decisions, decisions.

Diamond due next week with the T-Mobile version due in July (current estimate).

Any others views?

The diamond does look lovely.. But under the skin, the functionality will be the same as your vario!
Windows mobile is essentially the same on all PDAs!
the iPhone is definately something special. Only phone ive been excited to use 2 months after I bought it..its just lovely!

Have you seen the new Opera though Dave, mobile 9.5. Does all the scaling that Safari does which is what is making the Diamond interesting, especially since its got a better screen and is much smaller.

Yes its the WM6.1 that puts me off definitely. I also am a Mac man at home, problem is work is MS and ActiveSync and as the PCs are locked down I can't install any software.

I only have the TyTnII, but I'd still be very tempted if I was upgrading to go for the iPhone. The GPS may be a deal-breaker though. Does the iPhone have it? I use the TomTom far more than I thought I would.

All pipe dreams for me though. I can only have what my company offer, and it isn't the Diamond or the iPhone so I have to be happy with what I've got (and to be fair I am).
