Mystery goalkeeper

One for the statos or someone with a better memory than me.
Who played in goal for Palace against Middlesbrough on May 4 1985?
I have reason to believe it wasn't the regular custodian at the time, George Wood, so who was it?

Presumably would have been mentioned in the following home programme against Grimsby, a copy of which I am missing.

Was that when Henry Hughton went in goal?

The plot thickens. It was almost certainly the Middlesbrough game.
I have even found this photo of him coming out behind Jim Cannon.

Is there no reference to him in the Grimsby programme of 11/5/85?

The date should be 1986. Hardwick played a couple of games on loan from Oxford where he'd been ousted by Alan Judge (who ironically now plays for CPFC in the Masters). Was pretty awful. I remember him letting a goal in through his legs at Oldham away.

Well done!

Just checked Wikipedia which reckons he played three games on loan for us. So must have been the Middlesbrough and Grimsby home games and Cardiff away.

Don't remember him at all.

You're absolutely right. It was the following season, the game against Boro on 8/3/86.

There's mis-filing for you.

Nope. It was 85/86, towards the end of the season. Cardiff had already been relegated the season before. Whoever says it was 1985 is misinformed. One of the games he played was Oldham away. I know because I was there and it was discussed on here a few years back.
