Maths Thread
A bit like the Golf Boy golf tips thread, here's a thread for anyone who has any maths questions they need help with. Yep I know I'm a saddo numbers person but I know there are quite a few others I'm sure than could help aswell !


ps....I know I could work this out but haven't had time so far but if anyone could see a quick answer I'd be interested

Edit - nobody seems to have answered the 2008 problem by the OP: Next in sequence is: 6, 35, 143, 323, 667, 1147, 1763, 2491

Hint: write down the first few prime numbers .....

(Yes, it is 'maths' unless you are an American)

can't believe this was 2008 !! This was in the Christmas quiz in our village newsletter that you think you would chuck in the bin but somehow get drawn in. Just remembered that the quiz had a typo (as per OP) and I thought it was 6, 35 and1/7, 323, 667 etc so spent days thinking it was something to do with sevenths.....until finally realised it was the old consective multiplicative prime one.
