I'm still not getting why they think he has under-achieved. With the players he's got at his disposal, their league position is just fine, IMHO.

They've just won the farmer's derby too, so clearly they have someone lined up.

Ipswich fan I spoke to at the home game wasn't happy at all with him.

He said Magilton had spent a bit of money in the Summer too, but mostly on average players - I think he may have been exagerating here.

Has to be said they weren't great when we played them earlier in the season at Selhurst. Easily one of the most unjust scorelines ever to be seen.

Personally I think he should have been given another year as he didn't appear to be doing too much wrong.

To me the most alarming element is the way their home form has suffered. I think they had the best home form in our division last year, it was certainly right up their, just their away form was pretty poor. This year it's gone completely the other way round, home form is shocking, one win in 9 at home or something along those lines.

I was surprised to read in the summer how much they'd spent. Something like £2.5m on David Norris, for example. For a notoriously cash-strapped club it was a lot of cash. Still, top ten isn't that bad and the timing's very weird after winning the derby. Maybe they thought they'd let his last game be a high point, dunno. But it is a weird decision.

He got sacked over the phone whilst he was on compassionate leave to look after his sick mother. Very harsh.
