Edgar Davids to Leicester?
In talks apparently. He's 36 now will cost a ton in wages and has always been a loose cannon. Madness IMHO

Rather pointless, I agree.

Why is the question that springs to mind. TBH I thought he had retired long ago.

He's after one last big pay-day and Leicester are the mugs that are going to give it to him.
In another life, it normally would've been Palace.

Hasn't played a competitive game in nearly 18 months and is 36.
What the flip?

Probably figure if he can add 1000-2000 to the gate, shift a few shirts and take on a few coaching duties then he;ll pay for himself.

Maybe we should follow their lead and re-sign Vince Hilaire?

What a ******* waste. I love it when clubs do this, buy a player who is well past it and pay him a fortune in ages. Brilliant business sense.

and he's only played c.480 games (incl 74 internationals) in an 18 year pro career, which hardly suggests he's up to playing 40+ club games a season in the CCC. someone like Giggs has played over 800 games in the same period.

Despite his claims to the contrary, this smacks of a Mandaric ego signing. I'd be worried if I were Pearson too - Davids is obviously going to have limited impact as a player, which means the chairman might be looking at the coaching aspect....

This is like Hull signing Okocha, only infinitely sillier, more pointless and more of a complete ego-trip waste of time by an egotistical idiot chairman. Leicester sorted themselves out by dropping all the flashy egomaniac bollocks and remembering the football, and they'd be unbelievably stupid to get carried away again.

Difference (apparently, according to the Guardian) is that he is
'...now considering a short-term deal at Selhurst Park which would see him fall in line with the club's wage structure' http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...e-championship

Do we need a player like him?
I thought we were short of strikers, not midfielders. |
